Rimac [Hot!] Rimac Nevera

Croatian EV pioneer and leader in high-performance battery tech. Home of the 2,107 HP Nevera R, the world's fastest accelerating production car. Official: Rimac
I rate this guy highly. No fuss no bullshit and a straight talker. He's drives his cars like they are stolen. He has a Pagani Huyara vs Bugatti Chiron on the racetrack video!

But I'm excited by this additional electric hypercar to the collection. 🙂

Rimac Group valued at $2 BILLION. Think about that for a minute.

A review apparently.

Also you'll notice slight name change. It's simply a reflection of renewed focus and a compete shift in direction.🙂

As I thought the 5100lb weight estimate that C/D did a few weeks back in their review wasn't a pure estimate. According to Rimac's EPA application, the car's curb weight is actually 5071lb, or 2300kg.

That's crazy weight. Is that the fixed power too? 1839hp? I remember reading it in the C/D review.

Interesting. Thanks.

First five seconds, the speedometer goes to 195MPH and rising!

Sunday Night Top Gear we find out! Maybe a 0-300km/h at last!

But unfortunately I believe a Lamborghini Aventador SVJ will be on the recieving end!🙂

So just a couple of thoughts ahead of tomorrow. I've been told that Chris Harris breaches 210MPH. So completely off the cuff I'm stating 1/2 mile at 12.5 seconds @215MPH.

We will soon find out!🙂

I am pretty sure you are getting excited for nothing. Top Gear TV never posts any numbers, except for the lap - which they don't even do that often nowdays. If any numbers are mentioned they are gonna be straight from Rimac's mouth.

Well I refer to it as the "spark". If that ever goes then so will I LOL! It's just a bit of fun. But last time a hypercar manufacturer went for a run I said 475km/h peak top speed elsewhere.

I did OK.🙂

I remember this like yesterday. The numbers were incredible. Was it a fair comparison? Possibly not, but it was staggeringly incredible what transpired next, a World Record!

It still stands today.🙂

It's even worse, actually. If you look the performance section on Rimac's webpage and switch to mph, it actually says 9.3s for 0-180mph, not 186. Which makes a lot more sense seeing as Carwow got 0-172mph in 8.6s (not sure if with roll-out or not). You are not gonna go 172-186mph in 0.7s, even in a 1900hp car (my spreadsheet says 1.4s).

2.2s at a drag strip maybe (and even then that's pretty optimistic). Curiously, though, in the Carwow video he got 2.08s 0-60mph on the Vbox. Again, not sure if that's with roll-out or not. In the Ferrari he got 2.43s and yet when he got a good launch in the Ferrari it was neck and neck until they emerged from the tire limit phase and the Rimac started pulling ahead. And they also did a brake test with both cars stopping in equal distance. So there was no indication the Rimac had more tire grip and should be 0.3s faster to 60mph. Not sure why Carwow would run non-1ft-roll-out setting on the Vbox for the Ferrari and 1ft-roll-out setting for the Rimac. If they did, then that's some BS...

Carwow don't use 1ft rollout and Matt Watson confirmed this in a video citing it was actually an American standard not theirs. I'll see if I can find it some other time.

Rimac Nevera is world's fastest electric production car
The electric 1887bhp hypercar hit a top speed of 258mph - a third of the speed of sound

The Rimac Nevera has become the world’s fastest electric production car, achieving a record-breaking top speed figure to match its eye-watering quarter-mile run from 2021.

The Croatian hypercar, which was driven by Rimac’s chief test and development driver, Miro Zrnčević, hit a top speed of 258mph.

Set into its highest-speed mode, which improves the balance between drag and downforce, the Nevera achieved the record at the Automotive Testing Papenburg track in Germany, making use of two 4km straights.

It’s the first time the Nevera has reached its 258mph top speed, which was a target set by the Rimac team back when the car was initially revealed as the C_Two concept at the 2018 Geneva motor show.

Already deemed the world’s fastest-accelerating production car over a quarter mile (8.582sec), the Nevera is powered by four electric motors producing a staggering 1887bhp. Rimac says it hits 0-62mph in 1.95sec and 0-100mph in 4.3sec.

A Nevera delivered to a customer comes with a top speed limited to 219mph but can be adjusted to theoretically hit the 258mph figure in controlled conditions at special, Rimac-supported events.

“To travel at 412kph, or 258mph, means travelling at a third of the speed of sound," said Zrnčević. "Simply achieving that alone in a road car is incredibly complex, but in [the] Nevera we've created a car that can travel long distances on a single charge, can tackle tight and twisting race tracks and can drift as well as break straight-line speed records, both for acceleration and V-max.

“I’ve driven [the] Nevera since it first turned a wheel, and to see the perfectly honed car that is today is a really emotional moment. The most important thing I've learned during the top-speed attempt is how composed and stable the car was, confirming that our aerodynamics and vehicle dynamics teams have done an amazing job.”

Etc. Continued in the link.
