W1 [Hot!] Mclaren W1

The McLaren W1 is a limited-production hybrid sports car developed by McLaren Automotive. It is the successor to the McLaren P1. It was unveiled on October 6, 2024.
Even on Mclaren website their video starts with the car having different shape headlights and it doesn't have a frunk line? Maybe incorrect photoshop or CGI?

Isn’t that the DRLs vs headlights? Seems all ok

The more I look at the front three quarters the more it seems that they took and Elva with a windscreen and tacked on a roof

But you can’t plug it and charge it, that is what the P is standing for. So per definition it is not a PHEV

Except you can plug it in and charge it.

McLaren's own press release - https://cars.mclaren.press/releases/1236
W1 has an onboard charger that supports EVSE connection, allowing the battery to be replenished to 80% in just 22 minutes.

Car and Driver - https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a62499628/2026-mclaren-w1-revealed/
A small 1.4-kWh battery provides power to the e-motor. McLaren claims the Level 2 onboard charger can take the battery to 80 percent in 22 minutes. Despite a short electric-only range of about two miles, this PHEV is focused on maximum acceleration performance

Except you can plug it in and charge it.
You are right, I see it now. It is stated several places it is no PHEV, Autocar explicitly says in its article it is not a Plug-in. But then this is typical for Autocar with its imprecise information….

Autocar and Motor as it was known was the FIRST place and only place I'd go for News.

Now you better off with~
