Solus GT [Hot!] McLaren Solus GT

The McLaren Solus GT is a limited-production track-only mid-engined sports car manufactured by McLaren Automotive. The car is the sixth addition in the McLaren Ultimate Series, joining the McLaren F1, McLaren P1, McLaren Senna, McLaren Speedtail, and McLaren Elva. It is based on the 2017 Super Vision Gran Turismo concept that appeared in the Sony Interactive Entertainment game Gran Turismo Sport. The car is designed to be an "extreme expression of track driving engagement", and will be limited to 25 units, all of which come with a custom moulded seat, FIA-homologated race suit, helmet, and a bespoke HANS (head and neck support device).
Love Jethro on Top Gear (magazine)!

I couldn't help but notice the screen showing, what I'm guessing is, the last lap. It probably wasn't anywhere near a proper effort, but this already equals the best GT3 lap time on COTA and puts it 6.5 seconds ahead of Venom F5 Revolution with aero mods.

JUST HOW FAST IS IT?
McLaren claims the Solus GT can lap quicker than an LMP2 car and not too far away from a Hypercar - the top class at Le Mans. Which is nuts. Is it true? It’s hard to say. We were at COTA on a very hot day and the Solus was well under the GT3 racecar lap record but still some way from an LMP2 record (a 1m 52.545s set by Nyck de Vries) even in the hands of a current IndyCar driver.

Manny Khoshbins update about his McLaren Solus GT (and Aston Martin Valkyrie Spider, Mercedes-AMG One, Koenigsegg Jesko, Bugatti Bolide).

McLaren Solus GT --> Cancelled (too hardcore and track only)
Aston Martin Valkyrie Spider --> Sold directly after delivery (uncertainties if the car runs well and maintenance costs)
Mercedes-AMG One --> Waiting on production (needs to figure out a way to import it in the USA)
Koenigsegg Jesko --> Still undecided between the Absolute or Attack version (producion end of 2025)
Bugatti Bolide --> Waiting on production (end of 2024)

"I drove that at COTA and boy I was hyperventilating. I had to pull over and open the top.
When I first saw the rendering I fell off my seat. It was so exciting, so futuristic... and of course I signed up for it and I wired my deposit. But when I actually sat in the car and drove it, I realized I'm never going to track this car. It's basically going to be sitting in the garage as an art piece. That car belongs on a track and not in a garage."
Totally vindicated!
Driving these cars properly requires skill and certain level of athleticism.
I still can't figure out why these FFF guys or Khoshbin bought into the idea of owning a Solus GT.
I think they're just gonna do one track day, realize they're out of their depth and then off it goes to serve as a room decoration for the remainder of their custody.

On a bright side, now he can go buy 10 more SLRs.

The Triple F Collection is selling their Solus GT (along with 7 other cars). Revvd is right again, probably the same reason as Manny Khoshbin.

I wonder about other owners and how much they drive theirs. But they don't seem to be posting on social media which is fair enough.
