To be fair, Audi generally converts its concepts to production cars quite faithfully.

That's what I was going to say. The transition of the GT and Q4 from concept to production has been fantastic.

Just compare those two with the EQS drama.

Only a day of difference in the presentation, thank goodness is a breath of fresh air after seeing the EQS

Looks great, but comparing a concept to a production EQS seems a bit unfair. Nonetheless, conventional this Audi may be, this has my attention.

It's mostly just irrelevant because they're not in the same class. That being said, I don't think the EQE styling is going to delight the masses either.

I made these comparisons between their concept and production cars. Audi transfer their concept to reality the best. I feel frustrated sometimes thinking why can't BMW and MB did the same.
So for this A6 concept, I think we are looking at 95-99%of the real deal. The question is when will they be able to launch it.

The production EQS looks like it has shorter front and rear deck relative to cabin portion of the body compared to the concept, and the EQE looks like both decks are even shorter relative to the cabin. With the EQE prototypes we've seen thus far, they remind me of the F015 concept.

All that said, this A6 has a lot of appeal potential.

Being fair the i4 is also 90% similar

Bad not. Audi? Not much either.

Wonder what BEVs will make the market/status thing evolve in the coming years....

Even though objectively it’s a pretty nice car, it’s closer to a korean than a German design. It’s not necessarily bad, just there is a chance to lose some identity in the process. It’s also quite production ready based on the dimensions, I would say 98% based on their recent models like the GT and the Q4 e Tron, that’s good news. Also it’s interesting whether this new design language will influence the whole Audi lineup, as the ICE A6 and siblings.

Not to be nitpicky...but considering the number of high-profile designers that are or have recently been employed by the Hyundai Group that come from the German 3, I think it's the other way around. Frankly, Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis are reaping the fruits from those sowed seeds quite nicely. Really been impressed with the design of the most recent slate of cars.

Well their designs are clearly improving, but they managed to keep it distinctive korean designs, just on a completely new level. Quality is on pair with the Germans but styling is different, that’s what I meant to say.

Looks good in the design department, seems though that Audi is lagging behind in terms of range, evidenced again by the Q4. Hope they will correct that with this car.

Audi is really on a high lately with their EV designs, first the stunning E-Tron GT, then the fantastic Q4 E-Tron, and now this delicious A6 concept. If this A6 E-Tron goes into production looking 80 to 90% like this then they will have a winning lineup of EV vehicles.

That is a beautiful front, I do not understand well, A6 E-tron ?, rather it is like an A7 E-tron, and then what is the point with the GT existing then ?, a little confusing all this

I think that we'll have to wait for a full manufacturers' spec-sheet (exterior/interior dimensions) on the A6 eTron concept. It should be revealed by Audi AG upon its' presentation at the Shanghai show. Only then will we be able to ascertain whether the A6 eTron invades the eTron GTs' territory (I don't think it will). As for the current ICE A6 and A7, I suspect that the A6 eTron will eventually replace both within the course of the next 5-6 years. Like many manufacturers, Audi will be culling its' model catalogue as ICEs' are eventually phased out. I reckon that we will be seeing an Avant derivative of the A6 eTron.

What I like about Audi is that they are focusing more on charging speed rather than range. The PPE platform supposed to support 350kW charging. Even if it has way lower range than the other cars it would travel 1000km in a shorter time.

Admit that would be an interesting compare though you might have to supercharge twice instead of once to reach 1000km. In addition it would also depend on how much charging speed would actually be on offer at a supercharging station. This is generally lower than advertised i.e. actual charging speed could be similar which would take away the advantage of the car being able to charge quicker.

Initially skeptical with a "range is everything" mindset, I'm beginning to catch the charging speed drift. Hopefully, a highly efficient infrastructure will be provided. Realistic 450/500km range is quite acceptable should a plethora of "speed charge" (an extra 300km worth of charge within the course of under 10 minutes) opportunities be readily available.

Audi

Audi AG is a German automotive manufacturer of luxury vehicles headquartered in Ingolstadt, Bavaria, Germany. A subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, the company’s origins date back to the early 20th century and the initial enterprises (Horch and the Audiwerke) founded by engineer August Horch (1868–1951). Two other manufacturers (DKW and Wanderer) also contributed to the foundation of Auto Union in 1932. The modern Audi era began in the 1960s, when Volkswagen acquired Auto Union from Daimler-Benz, and merged it with NSU Motorenwerke in 1969.
