Couldn't agree more! This car would be close to perfection if AMG installs the 450kw (612PS) version of the V8 and removes the hybrid tech. These are the obvious benefits:
1) At least 250 to 300kg less weight. Will be a huge benefit for the handling and braking.
2) Improved performance especially at higher speeds. The new AMG GT Pro is a good example, it weighs 1950kg and with the 450kw powertrain does 0-100 in 3.2sec (vs 3.4 in the C63) and 0-200 in 10.9sec (vs 12.6 in the C63).
3) Increased boot size from 280ltr to 455 ltr.
4) Less complexity with the matching of the engine with gearbox and electric motor and gearbox.
5) It doesn't run out of power after long usage. The current C63 will only have 680PS for 10 seconds and then normally have 570PS, but if there is no battery power, then only 476PS will be available from the 4cylinder engine, while the V8 will have 612PS all the time.
6) Smoother and more refined power delivery.
7) Much more character and a melodious roar from the V8 under full throttle.
Aye, and square that for the GT as wellThat should be a SL53 not 450. No need for a S version either. Just make it the SL63 and call it a day.

I see CLE53s almost every week now. Still no C63s lol.

Has there ever been an ugly or visually underwhelming AMG?I mean all the recent Merc's look fantastic in their AMG forms.
Even the much maligned C63s looks fantastic. If only they made a 2-door coupe for it. Yeah I know the CLE replaces it, but a smaller lighter, more agile coupe like the W205 with the W206 design cues would have looked amazing. With the M256M would have made a nice competitor to the M2.
I guess the EQE 53 if that really counts lol.Has there ever been an ugly or visually underwhelming AMG?

I thought that unicorn was the coolest AMG ever!!The R63 is the only one I can think of.

The first gen C36 and C43 W202 models are very underwhelming and highly forgettable AMG models. Definitely at the top of the list fully agree.
