Now, I will do another one of these once we get pics of the production version of the 6er. But to put a concept 6er interior up against the production CLS would be unfair, so I chose the Shooting Brake to go head on against the 6er concept. Both are near production ready, just a bit more fancy...

From A pillar to B pillar only.
What design you you prefer??

Close one for me, but I prefer the more modern-looking architecture of the 6er. Some things I do like better on the Merc though: the vents look more unique, and I think the steering wheel looks better whereas the 6er wheel looks like it has one too many "layers."

It's a close one but on purely appearance of the interiors I would have to go with the Merc, it's design looks the more conventional and two halves gel together better. Though that said this is probably the most exciting interior design to come out of BMW for as long as I have known.

I go with the benz..as it feels airy..and light..
while the bmw feels rich and fat..

Both are very nice..:)

I still think that the 6er concept interior is loaded with unnecesseary stuff but i also hate the merc central console and think that overall the previous cls interious had much more character so i will go with the 6er.

thats like asking for chocolate or vanilla ice cream.
one likes it sporty, the other wants comfort.
those are both brilliant interiors

It's a close call!

I have to say, after seeing both interiors side by side, I have come to appreciate the simple elegance of the CLS much more than before. I always liked the new CLS interior, looks more 'German' than the 6er actually. More solid or something? I still prefer the 6er of course, not just because I'm a Bimmer fanboy; I really think it's gorgeous and maybe best ever from BMW...

I find the BMW's messy, overcrowded, disharmonic. I wouldn't feel well in such a complex interior, no,feel-good factor. And it doesn't look overly sporty either. I much prefer their current interior design, even if it is a bit on the massive side.
That screen is so poorly integrated, almost as bad as in the Mercedes C-Class!

The Merc's is much more my taste, simple, elegant, with very stylish details that don't make the whole look overdesigned. It's an environment that is made for you to feel good in, not to impress the neighbour. I really like that interior's design.

The 6'er is more brutal and sporty, whereas the SBC is more classy and more comfortable. Personally, I like the new CLS' interior better than the SBC (they're very similar, though..), but I prefer the SBC over the 6'er. Nevertheless, both are amazing!

Giant LOL at everything in that quote.

That's because it's a flipscreen..
Difficult choice, the beemers centre console is a bit too crowded IMO and the interior isn't so sleek, the interior is fabulous otherwise. I hate the merc:s centreconsole but otherwise it's merc:s best interior for a long time IMO, love the seats. My vote go's to the fresh new BMW:s interior.

Respect to your opinion even if I myself do not agree and find the 6er's interior perfect;) The complexity and overcrowded'ness you describe brings one car's interior to mind, the new Audi A8:D

the CLS interior suits a SUV not a coupe, it feels high.
:t-cheers:

That's amazing, we are in complete agreement over the Merc's interior but at total odds over the BMW. I personally think it's a significant step forward for BMW.

Via these pics, and only these pics, taking color of the interiors, and photo quality/lighting into effect, I voted 6'er.

The CLS's interior has too many "Concept" elements which don't resonate as tangible to me, and I actually like the production CLS' interior more than what I see in the Shooting Brake photo's. So I wouldn't be surprised if the CLS is my interior choice VS the production 6'er.

I don't like the 6'ers screen though, looks entry level or aftermarket/cheap. I know it's big, but a pop up look is just low-end to me. Not to mention, functionality will be horrible, with no hood over it.
