Video Games Gran Turismo 5 / GT5 Prologue (PS3) Thread

Too bad. This game will never get as good ratings as the previous games, as the expectations are now too high. This game will be slaughtered for the smallest flaw, and it should be...

**** this shit..
But they said it will come this holiday season..and from nov 2 until holiday season isnt long..

still sucks though!!!

I was looking at the shops today and saw a little sign saying the same is been delayed again, I thought they have been mistaken or the sign was old until I saw the link posted above.

It will be under the microscope and telescope when or if it ever makes out to retail. Partially I feel that the game might be over-engineered as the developers seem incapable of signing the game off. They have been working on the game for so long that some of the cars added to the roster are due to be replaced. Polyphony digital will be under so much scrutiny for every any bug or missing feature.

The guy running the show is a known perfectionist, but damn it, there's wayy too much bs in the game which they could have done without such as the nascar section and released the game quicker.

I'll keep a track on the review scores and post them here. Before the year's end, too.
But what you say will not be true, at all.

Honestly guys, I write in a game forum as much as I write here, journalist use to write in the forum too, and, according to infinite previews, this game is gonna be the holly bible of the automobilism games, it´s just so powerful that not even the next Forza will get close.

Yes, it will probably be the best thing to come out since the creation of Cheeseburgers! My thing is will it ever enter my hands. I'm even losing sleep waiting for this game to be released.

Seriously, the crash physics and damage modeling look like a joke to me. Everything else however is good. I think they should have left those out until they could make it Gran Turismo quality, because it just seems half assed to me...Same with the interiors as not every car will have them. I think they bit off more then they could chew. Still kudos for them for attempting to deliver a game with everything they promised this time, something they're not known for.

Maybe....just Maybe thats why it's delayed. Once you sign off on the game, then it will be good to go.

For the record I've been a GT fan since I played the first one and owned the entire series except for the first. That said I don't think it's the only good racing simulator out there. Forza and Dirt have one-upped it on many things I believe, a lot of those physics based.
HOH if the delay is a month or so it will be for bugs they will not retool the physics engine to sacrifice a holiday launch. Maybe a patch later but looking how they promised so much for Prologue and never delivered I have much doubt.

Gran Turismo 5 won't be home for Christmas?

Gran Turismo 5 continues to tantalize while enraging keeping us waiting with baited breath, for that one day when we can place the disc into our Playstation 3. The game was supposed to be released on November 2nd, but an announcement on the US Playstation blog said it was pushed back... again. The only clue to the new release date was that it would be available this holiday season. What does that mean exactly? Apparently it means that you will have to shake off your hangover and pick up a copy of the game on New Years Day... or Eve... or the day after New Years Day. Honestly, we're not entirely sure and we don't think Polyphony Digital is either.

Best Buy, Gamestop and Amazon.com have updated their respective pre-order pages to reflect a new release date. Amazon.com lists 12/31/10, Gamestop has 01/01/11 and Best Buy shows a date of 01/02/11. For some reason, Target believes the game will be available on November 1st, which is awfully hopeful. Wal-Mart has apparently given up listing a release date, which may be the wisest move of all. Thanks for the tip, Billfred!

This is debated all over the internet. Now there are as many release dates as there are vendors...
