Goodwood Festival of Speed 2023

I was watching the live stream at the time. Commentators said 1 person was already standing shortly after the incident and the other was sitting up and talking. So, I presume no serious injuries

Just asked a Marshall about it, indeed no serious injuries but they're quite surprised... Ultimately safety is the kind of thing that could ruin the FOS as much as EV's and the like.

High winds...

High winds LMAO, there is no minivan in sight so it should be fine. All these hypercars sit 80 cm from the ground lol.
Anyways, once you have seen the Bolide and heard the Huayra R you've checked the two most extreme cars.

Wish FOS would stop with all these fake no name brands for once though, it's bringing the event down. It's already grown way too big too fast.

And yet, the most incredible thing I've ever watched at FOS is last year's run of the McMurtry Spierling. If the pace didn't impress then the gasps from the crowd surely must have.

But when do we stop calling cars cars? Is this a car or some kart like project?
To me this has nothing to do with a car. It only resembles one ever so slightly.

Likely temporary structures over a certain height, and the ability for the medical helicopters to take off and land.

My top 2 pieces of advice for Goodwood, get 4 day tickets, and get grandstand passes. You won't miss anything and you can get shelter from the sun and the rain!

Lol, if that's all you go for, just spend a few hours swiping on Instagram, it's a lot cheaper and drier!

Look, it’s certainly on the extreme side but it’s still undeniably nothing else but a car. In the same way that we have cars in Formula 1 - as removed from everyday reality as they may be - here we have something equally unreal but it’s still just a car.

Some times from the shootout:

Mclaren Solus GT - 45.34s - Probably will win. Slower than the 720S GT3X, though, which did 45.01s in 2021.

Rimac Nevera - 49.32s - Which should be the fastest production car time. The previous best was the BAC Mono 2.5 with 49.54s. That said, the hill run is not the best measure of speed. Last year, the M4 CSL - which is not particularly fast - did 51.08s, for example.
