Another year, another FoS!

List of premiers: here
Full entry list: here

We have some interesting entrants in the "timed" category this year, like the Mclaren Solus GT, the Radford 62-2 Pikes Peak or the Rimac Nevera - which would be the first timed run on any track for this car.

The event starts on Thursday, full timetable here.

I wont be there this year but might impulse buy a ticket on Facebay if I see a cheap one.

Awww yisss.

I want to camp on site next year. Just need to commit to a ticket early. They sell out quickly.

There's still Thursday tickets available. I think they go on sale around November time, you want to have done it by March in my experience, though you can very much buy the tickets first, and then buy the camping later if you're not sure on the arrangements - they are normally handled separately. If you're in the far end of Campsite E it's still a fair old walk into the venue (45 mins to the Bridge roughly) and the shuttle buses are not the best (think Double-deckers on an AutoX course). Facilities on the campsite aren't that bad though and even down at the rowdy end things are pretty sensible.

Surprise debut by LMDh Lamborghini at FoS, Ferrari better watch out!

Today's Goodwood stream has been a complete clusterf*ck. All the events delayed by hours because of red flags and the timed shoot-out got cut in half because of another inccident - but then never resumed because they were running out of time and had to quickly run through all the other events.

Also, the amount of ads and nonsense and its ratio to actual stuff you wanna watch is at all time high. I wouldn't bother watching live. Instead just go through the VOD and find what you like.

Pininfarina Battista Edizione Nino Farina Goodwood Festival of Speed Hillclimb debut.
That’s a damn good looking livery. Festival of speed will be different in 2-3 years time. There will be more EVs going up the hill than ICE cars.

To be honest that's effectively all it is, an (very) expensive limited edition of a limited edition.🙂

Want to see Lotus go!

It's not so bad in the first look or manufacturer batches, but there's not enough genuinely interesting EV stuff out their to push out 100+ years of ICE stuff.

You know yourself the sound is half the appeal - its what gets people's attention. The micro influencers with the go pros stampede in the Super paddock everything someone fires up a car.

EV's just aren't the same. I'm sat in the Grandstand with the smell of partially burned hydrocarbons wafting on the breeze... It's great.

I heard two spectators were hit by an errant wheel and then saw an ambulance leaving? My signal's so shit here, I'm not sure what happened.
I was watching the live stream at the time. Commentators said 1 person was already standing shortly after the incident and the other was sitting up and talking. So, I presume no serious injuries.

And yet, the most incredible thing I've ever watched at FOS is last year's run of the McMurtry Spierling. If the pace didn't impress then the gasps from the crowd surely must have.
