GMA GMA T.50

Gordon Murray Automotive (GMA) is a British automobile manufacturer of sports cars based in Shalford, Surrey, England. Founded in 2017 by former Formula 1 and McLaren F1 designer Gordon Murray, the company's initial focus is on limited-run hand-built supercars. Its T.50 car entered production in 2023. The feud has been going on for like the past 30 years... Nichols says one thing, Murray says another. Who's right? ?‍♂️

This is a brief summary:

The entire McLaren F1 team at the time is on written record contradicting Murray's story. Long video interview with Nichols if you want to learn more. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wDE2XzqGV6s

The Daytona Blue spec sure isn't bad looking... But my personal spec would be: metallic sky blue exterior with very black tinted gloss CF parts, the front bumper in body color, silver wheels, cherry red brake calipers, without "fancar" badge and with the "T.50" badge in grey. For the interior I would go with the same cherry red driver's seat, light grey passenger seats and also light grey for most of the interior (probably contrasting with some smaller black or darker grey parts). Basically it would be a light grey interior with a red seat (and perhaps red steering wheel), likely with matching sky blue accents, although perhaps for some interior accents I would pick another color (not sure which, maybe white). If possible, I would go with naked aluminium buttons and switches instead of the standard black ones and with cherry red rev counter (although, again, that could also be done in blue or with the fourth accent color). As for the roof I would go with CF panels - 4.4kg is a bit too much for my taste and sun roofs are a bit annoying in my experience anyway.

Too bad there is no speccing online, so you'll have to use your imagination! :p

Or......just ask for your T.50 to match your Chiron or Huayra Roadster. The sky is the limit but there will likely be a few car ordered in the launch spec. e.g silver or Mclaren F1 orange.

In other news, no news on when this car is coming out. Definitely not this month as originally planned, though. And no announcement from GM or anyone mentioning the delay or when the new delivery date might be. In the TG video they mentioned it could be around Spring, but it's really not clear whether that's something they've been told behind the scenes, or just their guess. Personally I still think that Summer is much more realistic as even on the XP10 - the latest prototype they've finished (as of November when this video was likely filmed) - the fan is still not even installed, much less tested, so there still seems to be a LOT to do.

They are at least up to VP4 and based on what GM said in some recent interviews, pre-production cars should start being built this month and the full production should commence this summer (which probably means August, which would make it almost exactly 2 years after reveal). Hopefully that's true, although I also wouldn't be that surprised if the car was delayed a full year and the production only started in January next year...

Also present is the VP1. It ran as a pace car for several historic F1 cars during a presentation - this time with no wiper issues :).

Probably the best engine sound showcase yet. They cheated a bit with the camera being right next to the exhaust... but hey, I am not complaining :). The engine tune also seems to be upgraded from the last time we heard the car.

Wow what an engine sound. The T50 seemed to keep a gap with those older F1 cars, quite an amazing achievement for a road car.

Haha, as much as I would like to say that's the case, the F1 cars were taking it very easy. 90s F1 cars are only about 10s slower per lap than the 2021 F1 cars. They would be much faster than the T.50 in a straight line as well - as they make about the same power (if not a little bit more) and weigh nearly half. The T.50 still looks very fast, though - as is to be expected.
