Yeah, that was perhaps the most revealing part of the interview. And not in a good way.
As we know, they are planning to build a completely new HQ and production facility at Windlesham (obtained a build permit like a week ago), so I have been wondering what sort of deal they've struck with a major manufacturer to allow them to design relatively cheap sports cars, while keeping their production volumes low. If they got some sort of a licensing deal like they originally wanted, that would see a major manufacturer producing the cars that GMA designed in volume, while GMA themselves would only make a handful of them and that would be sort of like the top trim of that model.
But based on what Murray says, so far nobody showed any interested in that. So the next car they are producing is also gonna be super low production volume (no more than 100) - and as a result it's also gonna be extremely expensive. Even if it's not a halo supercar like the T.50, if we are talking about paying for the development and production with only 100 cars sold, I don't see how any of their cars are ever gonna cost less than hundreds of thousands of pounds/euros/dollars. Which is kinda disappointing from the perspective of someone who might be interested in buying some of their cars, but also I am not even sure it's a business model that works. Who is gonna pay, let's say, 300k euro or something for some car - no matter how exquisitely engineered - that's not a supercar/extreme luxury car?
which is essentially a British version of Pagani and Koenigsegg business model.
