Mercedes-Benz Cars sales rise 11.8 percent in Oct

Mercedes-Benz Cars reported an 11.8 percent increase in October sales for a total of 114,600 units. The sales increase was mainly due to the increased sales of the new redesigned C-Class and the Smart ForTwo minicar, the company said today.

The Mercedes-Benz brand by itself saw a 10.3 percent in October accounting for 103,900 units. Sales of the new redesigned C-Class more than doubled to 30,000 units making the car the global market leader in the segment:t-cheers: . Mercedes-Benz has delivered more than 130,000 C-Class sedans since the car was launched at the end of March 2007 in Europe.

Smart sales increased nearly 29 percent to 10,700 units. Sales of the Smart ForTwo jumped an outstanding 92 percent from the year before. The Smart ForTwo will go on sale in the U.S. in January, where demand is expected to be high.

WOW C class the global leader..
thats great..
and overall MB are doing very nicely..im happy

PS
lets see the others brand now...

The key for Mercedes is to keep this going. The C will do it for the time being, but the GLK needs to be a hit along with new E late next year or early 2009.

I think I can see why Mercedes decided to release the C without any major update in engines, other than reliability. Next years release of the new engines I would assume would keep the momentum going until the facelift.

Yep. I just hate that so many current W204 C350 owners are going to feel betrayed.

I am afraid of the engine change, and was planning on getting one in April but if the change hasn't happened yet, I might be inclined to wait, because the current line of engines is a bit weak.

In October 2007, Mercedes-Benz Cars achieved record sales of Mercedes-Benz, Maybach, and smart brand vehicles. Customer deliveries totaled 114,600 units, an increase of twelve percent on the 102,500 vehicles delivered in October 2006. As a result, Mercedes-Benz Cars also set a sales record for the first ten months of the year, which amounted to 1,056,900 units (January - October 2006: 1,036,700). At 103,900 units, deliveries of Mercedes-Benz brand vehicles were at their highest level ever for the month of October, representing an increase of ten percent on the 94,200 units delivered in the same month last year. The brand with the star also posted a new record for the first ten months of the year by selling 976,600 units, a four-percent increase from the 940,500 units sold between January and October 2006.

The new C-Class continues to be in great demand with customers. Sales of the vehicle more than doubled in October, to over 30,000 units (+136 percent compared to the same month in 2006), enabling the sedan to remain the world market leader in its segment. A total of more than 130,000 C-Class sedans have been delivered to customers around the world since the vehicle was launched on the market at the end of March 2007.
The S-Class models continue to be very successful on the global market as well. Since the beginning of the year, 91,300 customers have opted to buy a luxury class vehicle from Mercedes-Benz (January - October 2006: 91,100). This figure is higher than the combined sales of all models of directly competing German brands. A new sales record was particularly set by the CL-Class in the first ten months of the year, with 9,200 units delivered to customers.

Customers also are very enthusiastic about the new smart fortwo. The number of vehicles delivered to customers in October rose by 92 percent, to the record-setting total of 10,600 units (same period last year: 5,500 vehicles). As a result, smart brand sales increased by 29 percent in October, despite the fact that the brand still offered three models last year.

In the Asia-Pacific region, sales of Mercedes-Benz vehicles rose by 27 percent in October 2007, to an all-time high of 11,400 units (October 2006: 9.100). The brand with the star also posted a new sales record in the U.S., where deliveries of passenger vehicles increased by eleven percent to 22,800 units (October 2006: 20,600).
In Germany, sales of Mercedes-Benz, Maybach, and smart brand vehicles rose slightly in October, to 31,400 units (October 2006: 30,800). Mercedes-Benz Cars also posted a sales record in the rest of Western Europe, with customer deliveries increasing by fourteen percent to 37,800 units (October 2006: 33,300).

Whoa the S and CL are really doing it, can you say $$$$$$ for Mercedes-Benz. The C too. Now bring on the GLK and the new V6s.

Things could really get interesting if Smart is a hit here in the U.S. and Maybach is able to sell about 50 or so of those 62S Landaulets.

Sales Record: Volkswagen Group Delivers 5.14 million Vehicles in the First Ten Months

Wolfsburg, 15 November 2007 - From January to October of this year, the Volkswagen Group delivered 5.14 million vehicles to its customers throughout the world, thus setting a new sales record for the period. This is an increase of 8.5 percent on the figures for the first ten months of the previous year. An all-time-high was recorded for October: 528,500 vehicles were delivered, a growth of 11.2 percent over the figures for October 2006.

"Our repeated sales records confirm that all eight brands of the Group are on the right course with our unequalled, extensive range of products. By the end of the year we will, for the first time, have passed the six million vehicle delivery threshold," said Prof. Dr Martin Winterkorn, chairman of the Volkswagen board of management. He continued that this was a milestone on the path to further growth.

The Volkswagen Group delivered 875,000 vehicles in the Asian-Pacific region, 25.7 percent more than in the first ten months of last year. Of this figure, 758,000 vehicles were sold to customers in China, 30.0 percent more than last year.

The Volkswagen Group also recorded positive sales trends on the American continents. Deliveries in South America rose by 30.6 percent to 607,000 vehicles, of which 472,000 went to Brazil, (33.4 percent growth). In North America, 437,000 vehicles were sold, a rise of 0.3 percent. Of this figure, 273,000 vehicles were sold in the USA, a growth of 0.6 percent.

The Volkswagen brand, the largest-volume member of the Group, delivered 3.04 million vehicles from January to October of this year to customers throughout the world; 8.7 percent more than in the same period last year. Audi sold 818,000 vehicles, also a strong growth of 8.0 percent. Škoda significantly increased sales by 12.9 percent to 516.000 deliveries. Seat achieved 355,000 sales and reduced its sales deficit to 0.9 percent. Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles significantly increased sales by 11.9 percent to 399,000 vehicles. Contributions to the new sales record were also made by Bentley with 8,600 deliveries (16.5 percent growth) and Lamborghini with 2,000 vehicles (19.6 percent growth). Bugatti sold 67 vehicles, almost doubling its previous sales figures.
