M3/M4 ****GermanCarForum.com exclusive**** M3/M4 Launch Event

The BMW M3 is a high-performance version of the BMW 3 Series, developed by BMW's in-house motorsport division, BMW M GmbH. M3 models have been produced for every generation of 3 Series since the E30 M3 was introduced in 1986. The BMW M4 is a high-performance version of the BMW 4 Series automobile developed by BMW's motorsport division, BMW M, that has been built since 2014. As part of the renumbering that splits the coupé and convertible variants of the 3 Series into the 4 Series, the M4 replaced those variants of the BMW M3. Official website: BMW M

That guy in UAE got 13.4 secs 0-200km/h, VBOX verified for his M3 with DCT. I thought it would be closer to the F10 M5 times.
I've seen times low as 11,8 sec for the new M5. Noway a M3 is that fast. M3 ever been as quick as M5 up to 200km/h?
+ doesnt an engine need to lose up a little before it gets trully effective?

I have seen 11.7s for the M5 without CP, low 11s with CP. There are lots of parameters that can change the comparison. I am looking forward to some comparisons of the F80 and F10M done at the same place and time with as few differences as possible.

I have also noticed today that the BMW quoted 1000m times being the same at 21.9s is potentially a red herring because the F10 M5 hits the 155mph/250kmh speed limiter before 21.9s.

I previously thought that the F80 would be faster than the F10 M5 but I now believe that the F10 M5 is faster in a straight line (except for maybe off the line) than the F80. I still expect the F80 to be faster everywhere else.

A friend went :)

I guess the M4 cabrio as seen in the first pic was there just for show @SCOTT27 ?

Yes it was there for continuity , did they not have two? The M4 Cabrio makes its European debut at the AMI in Leipzig and the M Festival.

There will be drives for the M4 Cabrio soon.

BMW M

BMW M GmbH, formerly known as BMW Motorsport GmbH, is a subsidiary of BMW AG that manufactures high-performance luxury cars. BMW M ("M" for "motorsport") was initially created to facilitate BMW's racing program, which was very successful in the 1960s and 1970s. As time passed, BMW M began to supplement BMW's vehicle portfolio with specially modified higher trim models, for which they are now most known by the general public. These M-badged cars traditionally include modified engines, transmissions, suspensions, interior trims, aerodynamics, and exterior modifications to set them apart from their counterparts. All M models are tested and tuned at BMW's private facility at the Nürburgring racing circuit in Germany.
