By chance, I'm in San Fransisco at Travis Air Force Base getting laser vision corrective surgery. I have been pining for another Bug to cure my itch since relinquishing my 73 Super 13 years ago.

Upon bumbling around the net, I came across a dream... Outstanding example with 65k chasis miles, 25k motor miles, original paint, all original parts, non modded or molested, and all documented servicing, and owners paperwork for the 3 owners! To include the first owners drivers exam lol.

I have to drive back to Arizona where I am stationed, and pass LA, where the car is being stored! What a set of circumstances!

What do you think?:

That is one shiny beetle! If you need one in your life, this one seems like a good one. Love the colour by the way.

The color does it for me! I have never seen an original orange! Both my wife and I are huge Bug fans. With it being so clean and unmolested, this is a huge deal! Can't wait to see it and take it for a spin! Stay tuned for Friday's face to face!

Wow that car is in brilliant condition, still looks close to brand new. Lovely car, you must go for it, excellent buy. Nice colour, really neat interior and I love this thin white wall tyres with chromed original hub caps. You don't mention what engine it has, is it a 1200, 1300, 1500 or 1600 and single or twin port?

The car is really in brillant condition, exterior and interior. And I'm with Rolf referred to the tires. The sound of the engine is not to compare with the "boring" sound of the new generation. :)

The engine is original 1600 twinport. With just 25k miles on it in the last decade or so.

I am so excited for Friday. I'm taking the cash out with me soo I can be ready to buy on sight, as I don't use checks anymore. Maybe I should just get a cashiers check though lol.

Hopefully he will let me (pending purchase) take the car under his registration soo I can drive it back to AZ.

So, I went, I saw, I bought, I drove, it's now parked at home! Don't mind my daughter in this pic, lol, she's going ape shit because she was hungry haha.

Congratulation. Like mini_cooper4 said, it was the right decision. I'm sure. :)(y)

I'm overjoyed! For a DD original, it is excellent. It has its flaws, but all superficial. It's a completely sound well cared for and maintained example. It will make a great DD resto mod project. I will likely end up giving it my personal touches, but I will retain all original items for classic display.

What's it's total mileage?

I can't recall exactly, I'd have to go out and look, but ~68k original miles.

Now, after that last ride around town 68,153 miles on the ticker!
