Videos Gallardo vs M5

Automotive videos, clips, documentaries, walkarounds, motorsports, and related media.
In theory that is correct but from the gear ratios just_me posted , 7th gear in M5 is more like an overdrive since the car already stops accelerating at 250 km/h.

not surprised , i knew the m5 could beat the galardo , since the E55 is slightly faster than the ferrari 360...

What setting were used on the SMG III ?
Also, what tires were used for both cars ?
Good to see the M5 defeat another supercar (first race).
Now we can add the Gallardo next to the F430, GT3 and so on.
The list just keeps getting bigger.

With 7 gears, each gear is probably narrower which would help the high revving engine stay in optimum powerband and accelerate faster.

Yeah that's is the secret behind why the M5 has been able to beat many other sports cars. This really shows that how signifigant a gearbox can be and that power and weight isn't everything.

Without the engine the gearbox wouldnt work. Both engine and gearbox has to work perfectly together. If the M5 only had 300hp it wouldnt beat other 500hp sportcars ;)

According to the numbers just_me had posted Gallardo is actually FASTER than M5. If two people compare their cars and M5 won that means nothing cause it depends on the driver's skill.

Also i have heard many times from BMW fans that track times are more important than straight line but this time when M5 is supposed to win in straight line they start to brag. :t-crazy2:

the acceleration for the Gallardo is very different, from 13.0 sec to 15.4 sec. How is that? Does the quality on the engines differs that much?

Brag? A M5 can never beat a true sportcar around a track due of heigh weight. M5 seem to be very fast in acceleration thats why we celebrate

That's BS. The acceleration is always based on the driver/weather/tire conditions ect. Of course 2.4 sec is too much but can be expained. I 'm sure that M5 doesn't get the same acceleration times in every atempt..

no but as you can see the acceleration doesnt differ as much as the Gallardo.

BTW You must have woke up on the wrong side of the bed today. you seem to be a little but annoyed today :D
