What setting were used on the SMG III ?Moss6.3 said:not surprised , i knew the m5 could beat the galardo , since the E55 is slightly faster than the ferrari 360...

Carbon said:With 7 gears, each gear is probably narrower which would help the high revving engine stay in optimum powerband and accelerate faster.
Luwalira said:Yeah that's is the secret behind why the M5 has been able to beat many other sports cars. This really shows that how signifigant a gearbox can be and that power and weight isn't everything.

Yannis said:According to the numbers just_me had posted Gallardo is actually FASTER than M5. If two people compare their cars and M5 won that means nothing cause it depends on the driver's skill.
Also i have heard many times from BMW fans that track times are more important than straight line but this time when M5 is supposed to win in straight line they start to brag.![]()

Just_me said:the acceleration for the Gallardo is very different, from 13.0 sec to 15.4 sec. How is that? Does the quality on the engines differs that much?
Yannis said:That's BS. The acceleration is always based on the driver/weather/tire conditions ect. Of course 2.4 sec is too much but can be expained. I 'm sure that M5 doesn't get the same acceleration times in every atempt..
Just_me said:no but as you can see the acceleration doesnt differ as much as the Gallardo.
Yannis said:Where are those numbers you say from? Car magazines?
Just_me said:Im talking about the acceleration times I posted.
Yannis said:And the sources of those acceleration times? What are they?
Yannis said:Oh no...![]()
