CLS-Class (C219) Fully Redesigned CLS Impression

The C219 Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class is the first generation of the CLS-Class range of four-door coupé which features a fastback body style. It is succeeded by the CLS-Class (C218). Production: December 2003 – August 2010
Wow!!!
you just know the next one is going to be a stunner!

I like what I`m seeing so far! the front and 3/4th view is better than the current one if it turns out like this. The front view of the normal CLS is
a very weak boring design without the sport AMG kit. This new one will be way more dynamic looking all around, hell yes!

Looks very interesting. More in line with the current design theme. Not bad at all.

Interesting indeed. We all know Huckfeld when it comes to Mercedes impressions. I wonder if this one is based on something he has seen or if it's his wild imagination:eusa_thin. The front end and bonnet design is very sexy, I'm unsure about the fog lights though. I'm most certain that the car will get LED fog lights for a more eye candy appeal.

OCD and F600 inspired.

Side profile looks a bit strange at first, it lacks the sleekness of the current CLS in my opinion.
But it's still in the early stages, note that Huckfeldt's accuracy is only high in the final years, like 1-2 years before release.
Expect that the next generation CLS-class will be released about 2 years after the next generation E-class, which is around 2011-2012.

Huckfeldt's impression seems to be based on the Ocean Drive Concept and the F700 Conceptcar.

More details concerning the next generation CLS-class can be read in the next issue of Autobild available this week's friday.
Scanners anyone? ;)

damn thats hot..i love the charechter line that only runns to the rear door
superb..

Wow, it looks beautiful, lets hope this could be real although it is still too early to tell.

I like how the grill line flows with the lines inside the headlights.

A CLS500 was parked outside my building this morning and I was thinking to myself; "MB is gonna have a hard time replacing this beautiful sculpture".... Especially now that they've got plenty of competition.

I like the front ....but not so sure about the profile -- I wonder where they got the idea for that from?

ahem..

I'm not feeling the drag queen-ish tail lights and it looks like the CLK will get them as well. Hopefully they won't look as flamboyant on the production car.

Love that they broke the shoulder line, will help make it not look like a banana on wheels.

^ Ha ha -- well that is true .....if indeed, it ever really looked like "a banana on wheels" -- I always quite liked the dynamism of the CLS ...this redesign losers some of that IMO.

No, no I don't like that at all. I want another clean, unadorned design like the current CLS. That Huck thing looks a mess IMO.

M

They've got a big job redesigning the current model- even after 5 years it still looks quite unique and stunning.

As for the impression, Huck's usually accurate. If so, then i think we another beauty in the line-up.

Another thing, if this is based on the next E-Klasse (which we all think it will), will it have the gear-shift in the steering column or would Merc have to re-engneer it on the centre console?

that is a weird chop. I know that there is heavy mb concept influence in there...but c'mon. That just looks odd.

I didn't know what to title this. Admins change if we are starting a new CLS thread...

Huckfeldt impression.

well well i am still not shure yes it looks good the front but i dont know how mb are going to design the next gen cls becuase remeber the current one has its own identity in terms off exteriro and interior and i dont no if mb are going for the sport look off what hucks pic shows or merc going to carry it on as a classy styled mb

which ever way they choose its really going to be a tough car for them to design or do...but thats what i thaght with the sl and they stunned me with the face lift so lets see i dont like where the grill and bonnet meets reminds me off some dodge models and i love that rear wheel arch ...also toomuch black plastics on the bottom off front
