The new BMW M3 Convertible.

One can still dream about a carbon fibre reinforced plastic retractable hardtop :eusa_pray

THAT would be so damned awesome for the cabrio

Sometimes the solution to these areas lies not with the top ( which uses lightweight steel anyway) But underneath. With the car being lower than the Coupe and using more aluminum (in the cross frames) to keep the weight down in the chassis giving the car greater balance.

Even using much more aluminum than the coupé, the CC will never get it's handling and agility, he can't never hide is weight, if the 335i stands at 1810kg( almost 4000lb) and considering the 55kg(121lb) difference the M3 coupé have from the 335i , this M3 CC wil have a beautiful 1865 kg(4111lb!!):t-banghea:t-banghea

That's just great isn't?:t-cheers:

Yeah, it is the one M3 I do not care much for. And it is the M3 that attracts most posers too.

Do not be so quick to judge. At this point our engineers are not only the top of their game but on top of the direction how this car will operate.
It will surprise it is by no way a fat whale with little in balance and agility.
You have to remember to have faith because at BMW we dont give up on the programme. We solve it in many a way that illustrates the passion ,creativity and experience our engineers possess.

As of the performance and agility of the car itself ?
Well in the media presentation the visuals get a little crazy , The M3 cabrio will all be about Velocity. Indeed for certain high speed shots we used it's twin sibling the M3 Coupe with a camera rig attatched to the side of the car for certain shots and removed the bonnet and bootlid of another to incorporate alot of high speed shots.

"The Ultimate Expression of Velocity"

Sounds like the new gearbox will be presented together with the M3 Convertible

Anything at all you can say about DCT, when , where, how much?

Endurance... "Form and function with equal emphasis..."

Stamina... "Principle of Innovation , not immitation..."

Engagement ... " Precision without restriction..."

As someone asked: Can you tell us something about M3 Touring? I hope it`s coming with the facelift!
