Stake F1 Team Kick Sauber

I was reading a news a couple of days back that it is still not 100% confirmed that Sauber is going with the name "Stake F1 Team Kick Sauber" so we may see a chance in the name of their team before the 2024 F1 season.

I wonder if Komatsu would be able to produce better results in 2024 with Haas than Steiner was able to produce in 2023.

McLaren’s Zak Brown reiterates concerns over closer Red Bull-AlphaTauri alliance

"I think everything is pretty clear what the rules are,” Brown said. “However, I think the rules need to be reviewed and modified quickly. I think the A-B team ownership is now outdated for the reasons they were put in place many years ago.

“It was before we had a budget cap and had a huge disparity between our budget, Mercedes’ budget and the Force Indias of the world. It was intended to help the smaller teams.”

“Now that we have a budget cap that I believe everybody is pretty much running at, it's a much more financially fair [and] equal playing field,” he added.

Therefore we need to maintain fairness for the fans and fairness for the sport. To have teams teaming up, I think is against the spirit of what the definition of a constructor is.

Far too many boring Tilke tracks, far too many tracks in dictatorships and Asian countries with empty stands and WTF does the US get 3 GP's? No French or German GP's!

F1 was at it's best when it was mainly centered around Europe with a few additions like Mexico, Australia, Japan and Canada.

Reports are that Lewis is leaving Mercedes for Ferrari in 2025.

Unconfirmed, but seems like it might be genuine.

Spanish press, with some journalists that are close friends with the Sainz family, assume this is a done deal.

It seems Sainz could go to Audi or MB.

Toto Wolff is holding a meeting at MB HQ at 1400 GMT, presumably to announce Lewis is leaving at the end of 2024.

Or maybe to announce the thing that was what made Lewis decide to jump ship.

I'm not saying Mercedes are pulling out of F1, buutttttttt, it was one of more plausible ludicrous things I've seen bounced around this morning.

Do I recall correctly that you have a friend who works at Brackley?

Yes. Though in fairness I've not actually seen him since about mid September as I've stopped frequenting our mutual drinking establishment, so don't take my comment as any kind of serious info.

That said, I think the question of 'what's changed' that's potentially prompted him to make a move whilst having decided to re-sign with Mercedes is an interesting one.

edit: for clarity, I also knew someone, more a friend of a friend, that worked for HPP at Brixworth, though he left a couple of years ago.

According to various reports, Hamilton is all set to join Ferrari from 2025. If this happens, will he win the championship with Ferrari? What do you guys think?
