Red Bull seems to have deteriorated from last year while others moved in the right direction, them and Ferrari.

Wow I really hate this lance stroll, did you guys see him in the post QUALI press conference ?
He can’t even sit up straight to answer the questions, a very blasé and nonchalant personality. I wonder how vettel is gonna cope with having him as team mate / owner.
I would seriously consider retiring.
 
Max very lucky he drove his car into barrier on pre race lap very lucky only damaged the nose
 
Disastrous tyre strategies for Leclerc. Ferreri left him out for too long on a soft set that clearly wasn't working well for him.

He almost had a dnf had it not been of luck and his brilliant mechanics ..

And what did he do so great in the race lol ..

From 7th to 2nd and he managed to keep away Bottas that was gaining 1+ s per lap

I reckon it is because of you know why...... I was actually telling my wife this morning while watching the race that the usual suspect will win the DOTD vote.
So like you I can't find a logical reason why Max was voted the DOTD today, but he is.

He drove his car into the wall on a pre installation lap ???

He didnt pull any special move it was a mistake by bottas at launch which helped him move up the grid and a good stop

As for bottas catching him he only got close on the penultimate lap other then that bottas was still catching him ..
