[Spy shots] 2027 Mercedes-Benz "Baby G-Class"

The question is, why a completely new platform will be spend for only one model.
So, I believe that this g will be a (good looking) and very important precursor for a real redesign of the G.

The G can't live forever, but there's a strong demand for a redefined, high efficient version for the future with some newly -in g proven- design details.

Even the experience of the new platform could be used with a kind of enlargement ?
I mean they already have a one-model platform they use for the big G. Why not do it again for the small G

So many questions about this vehicle. That GLK actually looks pretty good. I just hope whatever it uses as a platform it isn't saddled with only 4-cylinder engines.

Really?

If this was the case mercedes would have done so already. The current G is a very sympathetic and deliberate evolution of the predecessor, rightfully so.

This somehow oddly reminds me of the KIA Soul:

And body-on-frame ? That would really surprise me.

Because it would be unheard of. They don't even do it for the AMG GT or SL.

The G is an anomaly. Stand alone in the line up, which is exactly why it's that good.

Looks like a Stellantis Jeep project. Just to think if Stellantis purchased Mercedes-Benz and Daimler? hypothetically, you have the second coming of Daimler-Chrysler. Showing indeed the Matrix is being rebooted. 🤣🤣🤣
