The car is quite a bargin here in Sweden. You can get a 2-3 years old one for about 25k. The depreciation is insane now when the E60 M5 has arrived.

When that car first came out I think I was 11 or 12 and I remember my dad bringing it home from the dealer. Before that my favorite car was the M roadster but it quickly changed. I thought it was the fastest most awsome car I had ever been in. I especially liked the suade roof, the M speedo, and the spoilers.

The one thing I totally agree with the article is that this M5 will be a classic. I don't see it as aged at all. If I could afford one, I'd love to... without the maintenance of course.

got say, e39 M5 still looks great today. A good simple design goes a long way.

BMW M

BMW M GmbH, formerly known as BMW Motorsport GmbH, is a subsidiary of BMW AG that manufactures high-performance luxury cars. BMW M ("M" for "motorsport") was initially created to facilitate BMW's racing program, which was very successful in the 1960s and 1970s. As time passed, BMW M began to supplement BMW's vehicle portfolio with specially modified higher trim models, for which they are now most known by the general public. These M-badged cars traditionally include modified engines, transmissions, suspensions, interior trims, aerodynamics, and exterior modifications to set them apart from their counterparts. All M models are tested and tuned at BMW's private facility at the Nürburgring racing circuit in Germany.
