CLS [First drives] New Mercedes Benz CLS (C218) First Drives - Autocar etc...

The Mercedes-Benz CLS (initially called the CLS-Class) is a series of executive cars produced by Mercedes-Benz from December 2003 to August 2023. The original model was a four-door sedan based on the Mercedes E-Class platform, marketed as a four door coupé. An estate (shooting brake) model was later added to the model range with the second generation CLS.
Doens't change anything since both CLS and A7 are germans and tested by a german magazine. A7 is a better car in their eyes. Excuses doesnt work in this case :D the star has fallen j/k ;)

Oh come now...You know that doesn't work on me. Journalist opinions mean as much to me as a donkey taking a dump.

Although I was impressed with the A7 in person, it is no match for the CLS (The creator of the segment). The fact that they included the 5GT disqualifies them for getting my approval.

Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class 350 driven full road test car review - BBC Top Gear - BBC Top Gear

:) "Aubergine" lol.

And they tested the A7 against the CLS. A7 won, no doubt. However, the tester forgot to mention they compared the C219 against the A7 ... Brilliant.

Nice to see how much the Reviewer loved it.

At first, I was kind of shocked at Clarkson giving such a negativity-free, easy/favorable Review to the Merc, namely the styling, as he's been critical of the newer fussier design language, at times....

.... Then I realized, it wasn't Clarkson reviewing it. :D

Yeah, me too :usa7uh: Anyway, the review shows how great the CLS actually is, though.

M-B's so damn proud of it's LED's. Lol. 80% of the video's and press of the CLS are about its LED's. :D

This is what all the Mercedes enthusiasts were waiting for a whole new range of engines. The new V6 diesel and V8 are just what they needed and are extremely competitive now.

From the test the new CLS seems to be a winner thanks in part to the new V6 diesel. I wonder what Mercedes will be showing for a range topper diesel?...Can't wait. :D

AMS-Test some translated lines

I promised a translation of the german Auto-Motor-Sport Test, but I decided to translate just a few lines. First, I am a bit lazy, second, my english skills aren't that good.

So, here you go…

…[both cars] offer interior ambiente comparable to luxury limousines…
…every part of the Mercedes interior is of remarkable quality … but not as distinguished as in the predecessor…
…the CLS' turbo 3 Liter Diesel engine is pushing as brutally as an electric engine…
…Audi A7 is hardly cheaper than the CLS…
…The Mercedes has a higher loading capacity by about 100kg, due to less heavvy equipment options and its steel suspension, the all-purpose tuning of which is extra-ordinairily well done. Despite its 19“ wheels the Mercedes' suspension does a smoother job without losing control in curves…
…the Mercedes' victory is due to its even better security equipment, including its outstanding braking performance, especially on µ-split conditions…
…finally superior economy of the BlueEfficiency 3L-Diesel…[]…average test consumption was 8,7 liters per 100km…[]…even 5,9 liters per 100km were possible when cruising…

I hope this gives an impression, greetings to everyone here
