The Insignia VXR just looks silly with those fang shaped air intakes.

The S4 is a such a wonderful car isn't it? It's so fast and understated, I absolutely love it. It's one of my favourite cars on sale today.

I think that it would be fair to say that the S4 B8 is one of Audis absolute best cars ever?

Now imagine sticking to that 3.0T engine, and tuning it more, and sticking it in to an RS4..... Im drooling already...

Less weight in the nose definitely benefits the S4 over the similarly S5 and in my opinion at least it's remarkably similar to the brilliant RS4 from the model before. Frankly in this contest the VXR didn't stand much of a chance, though it's actually a decent drive all things considered.

Oh and the time wasn't at all bad considering the conditions either.

All of this hype around the RS5 and yet it's clear that the sleeper in the range remains the lovely S4. I'd love an S4 Avant - my kind of Audi.

Funny, that they criticise the VXR for being too heavy for it's size, it's as big as an E-Class or 5-series. Fact of the matter is, that you do get an awful lot of car for your money in the Mondeo-class these days, much more so than a few years back. For consumers not worried by the premium side of things, I can certainly see the attraction.

Incidentally, the S4 Avant weighs exactly the same as the VXR, and is quite a bit smaller...

I'd take the S4 of course... ;)
