Vote for your favorite S-Class! :usa7uh:

W136 / W191: 1951-1962

W189: 1954-1957

My vote goes to the W116. The W116 was the revolutionary S-Class back in its day. Its design was a radical departure from the 1960s Mercedes' the world has come to know and the styling cues (inside and out) it introduced were to be found on Mercedes up until the mid 1990s! Aside from that, it looks so cool.

It's between the W126, W140 and W220 for me.... this is actually too difficult. :eusa_thin

If it helps, I love them all, but the W116 is just so pimp, I love it so much. :t-cheers:

My least favorite has got to be the W140. I never much liked that S-Class generation, though I am slowly warming up to it now.

It is always the latest one to me...no sense of history or sentimental attachment when it comes to cars...I don't own them long enough...:D

I voted for the W221...:eusa_clap

Gosh I really love the S-Class. This car really holds it`s own in the automotive industry and is indeed one of my favorite 4-door cars. All these models are wonderful, powerful and has a first hand, heavy influence in the automotive kingdome.

This is very tough for me but I chose the W126 because this is the S-Class that started the technological wave in the automotive world in a number of different areas. The design is very rich and elegant, even by todays standards, it`s a timeless classic.

The last three generations have all appealed to me, but the W221 is my choice.

:t-cheers:

W140 hands down. It had so much character, it is an icon. Many presidents and royal people including Princess Diana used it. The Russian mobsters loved it. I loved and still love it. The car is kind of my first automotive childhood love. :)

w140 the car still has so much presence. Recently got a ride in an armoured version was a little bit slow but everyone just turned and stared when we rolled by.

W189: 1954-1957
Chris, the W189 was not an S class -- it was above the S class, a completely hand built car equivalent to todays Maybach. Unlike its contemporary S class (W121) it had a separate chassis -- it was a Rolls-Royce competitor. :usa7uh:

My favourite S class is undoubtedly the W126 but I also really like the W116 and W140.

I kinda feel the same way. I liked the W126 so much back in the day because it was one of the first Mercedes' I'd seen as kid. Then there was the tank Panzer like W140. Then there was gorgeous W220, the prettiest S ever. I can't make a choice right now.

I have to agree with NevadaJack - it has to be the most modern of the bunch. Although I do not want to take anything away from the other contenders. They were all great cars (but in their time)

I understand what you are saying and I agree with your sentiments to a point. If we are talking about S classes, I would choose a W221 over an old one because I do not have any emotional attachment to any S class. But I would choose a W100 over a W221, a Maybach or Rolls-Royce any day. I absolutely love the W100 -- no matter how old it may be, it is still the finest car Mercedes has built since WW2.

I have such an emotional attachment to this old Merc, it is still as sophisticated as it ever was ...it always makes a grand impression without being overly ostentatious like a Rolls-Royce Phantom or Maybach. This is still the most sophisticated car to be chauffeured in, in my opinion. The fact that production of it ceased over 25 years ago just doesn't matter -- it is truly timeless -- I can think of no other car I would rather own.

True Roberto, but I felt like including it in the poll. It's just such a hot car that couldn't be left out.

Thanks for the info though. :t-cheers:
