Few facts about Gallardo LP560/4...

-new high reving 5.2L FSI with much lower CO2 emission then any current Ferrari engine. In fact LP560/4 is politically correct supercar!
-latest suspension technology( )
-new e-gear as fast as F1 Superfast
-front, side and thorax airbags. Should I say that Scud features only two airbags in 2008?
-aircondition system from 2008. NOT an Fiat Uno unit from F430...
-soundwise it will be the best engine on the market. Period.
-According to Lamborghini, it is 12second faster than Gallardo SL in N-ring
-0-300km/h time 34sec

VAG is doing a fantastic job. This looks as creamy and stylish as the TT-S.

But I have to say that the timing for the face lift is a bit poor. The Supperleggera owners can't be too happy right now. If I had one on order I would cancel the order ASAP which is what many will probably do, since the LP550 is most likely the better car, and better looking one as well.

pretty much what Ferrari did with the 360CS and F430.
about a year after the 360CS was released, the F430 was released.

Yeah it sucks. The SP is close to a 30 000 euro premium over a normal Gallardo. a year hasn't even passed since launch and now the entire 30k plus more will go up in smoke. If I owned a SP I wouldn't feel very happy and would put mine up for sale and placed an order for significantly superior and cheaper facelifted Gallardo.

But a Superleggera is a Track car, like a Scuderia...this new Gallardo is just an updated Gallardo!

Maybe we will see a SV version later!

We reported a few weeks ago that Lamborghini were possibly preparing a LP550 version of their Gallardo supercar. Well it appears our hunch was right. Before you are the first spy pictures of Lamborghini’s forthcoming midlife refreshed Gallardo.

Our spy photographers spotted this matt black test mule in Portugal testing alongside a Maserati Gran Turismo and a Porsche 911. It is hard to spot any visual updates with all the matt black tape covering the orange paint but the keen eye will focus on a few differences from the current car. Firstly, the headlights appear to be smaller. The current cars headlights run quite high up towards the A pillars whereas this vehicles headlights stop short. The front splitter also appears modified.

Moving to the rear of the car, the first thing the avid Lamborghini fan will notice is the quad exhaust outlets. These appear close to production ready and will replace the old two pipe outlet system. The engineers look like they have replaced the 3 piece ventilation grill below the rear light cluster with a one piece unit.

The best changes will be saved for the oily bits though as we suspect this car to be running a lighter AWD system, retuned suspension and bigger brakes. A new 550hp 5.2L FSI V10 will also make an appearance. Our eagle eyed spy photographer also has a keen sense of hearing and he reports that the new engine is quite muted when not on full song, so expect this new Gallardo to run a trick exhaust system.

Lamborghini releases Gallardo LP560-4 teaser



Following the trickle of leaked information surrounding a new version of the Gallardo being prepped for next month’s Geneva Motor Show, Lamborghini finally decided it was time to end speculation and has released this official teaser for the new model. The car will also feature a new name, ‘LP560-4,’ the 560 representing the engine’s output in metric horsepower (roughly 552hp) and the 4 denoting the AWD traction.

As confirmed by earlier spy shots, the new car will sport slightly revised bumpers including a jutting front lip spoiler. This model will replace the current Gallardo, first introduced in 2003, until an all-new model is launched around 2011.

In addition to the updated body, the LP560-4 will also feature a new 5.2L V10 powerplant. The larger engine will feature FSI direct-injection technology and develop up 552hp and 390lb-ft of torque, 32hp and 15lb-ft more than the current 5.0L mill. Engineers will be utilizing some of the technologies developed for the powertrain in the R8 and upcoming RS4, including significant changes to the gearbox and permanent all-wheel-drive system.

The LP560-4 will be available with both a manual or optional e-gear sequential transmission, both of which have been revised to send more power and torque to a lighter and more efficient AWD system.

it may be possible that where there's a 4, there will be a 2: ie 4wd and hopefully later on, 2wd


BTW, with 552 hp, the car will be making 40 hp more than the current car, not 32.

The Gallardo is back in the spot light, R8 eat your heart out. One of the best looking rear ends in the industry.
