911 (997) EVO: Rumoured 997 911 GT3 RS 4.0

The Porsche 997 is the sixth generation of the Porsche 911 sports car manufactured and sold by the German automobile manufacturer Porsche. It was sold between 2004 (for the 2005 model year) and 2013.
This car will be a collectors item like the 993GT2. It will mark the end of the GT1 engine block I think.

Yes, it will probably be the last of the M97 powerplants or better known as Metzger engine after the Porsche Motorsports engineer who developed the GT1 engine. All the versions of 991 will be getting some version of the A91 engine that debuted with the 997.2.

Told to me today (nothing "too" new but some interesting details) by someone that seems to know some details in Porsche:

the new GT3 RS 4.0 will have 500HP, 460Nm Torque and 1360kg.
Carbon hood
Carbon rear spoiler
Lexan rear windows
Carbon seats
interior black/red
options+ standards equivalent to GT2RS
Base price shall be 153.000 plus VAT

I was wondering a lower empty weight and possibly a better torque...
We will see...I asked more details but ...notyet got them.

1) Porsche will not announce the car on April 7th. They don't announce new models on Thursdays. They also would announce a car of this magnitude at some type of "event". There are no events on April 7th. My source said the announce will be in May, but no specific day given. Porsche feels that they announced so many cars in the last few months that they want the dust to settle. This will be the last 997 announced and then the 998 will start to get revealed. LE's will be delivered to US in August and Sept. That would be a major disappointment. We've already waited a long time.

2) 4.0L yes. 485 HP, not 500. NO PDK.

3) CF Hood and Fenders from GT2RS - No Surprise

4) Only slightly lighter than the GT3RS

5) New graphics and paint schemes - no surprise

6) Aero will be enhanced, but don't expect RSR style aero

7) Two tone interior options ala GT2RS.

8) Some suspension tweaks

9) $185k MSRP. With CF options it's over $200k.

Test mule?

Not sure if it is really a 4.0 Test mule or a just a normal RS with canards and different rear wings.
