How about you drive the M3 and I drive the C63, from santa monica to long beach up on the 10 fwy down to the 5 onto the 710 south, then lets see who the f**K wins !!!!!!


Thats the same fwys I raced a murcielago in the CL65, that was the time I got busted at 170mph, now even the CL65 got the job done, even though the 10 and 5 fwys got ramps and they do get twisty and i smoked him ....

Its public streets that thrill me, even though I had to see bout 400 fresh dead bodies 4 months later in the morgue program ...

Interesting lap times Sunny,it's amazing how 0.8 to 4.8s the difference is,i guess some tracks are more twisty and the others are more straight

True, that is where the first track I posted come into play. That is where the C63 actually might win!

Well, it is obvious that Mercedes has come a long way when it comes to deliver an efficient package, above both the RS4 and the IS-F is not a bad place to be. I don't think they thaught they would punish the M3 this time around and they don't have to. Just look at what they have accomplished... best real world drivers Mercedes ever.

And I believe all these tests were done with the manual transmission equipped M3. Make that DCT and probably the AMG's straight line advantage would also disappear.

Not entirely. The C63 still has the power advantage, I think the difference will show much more on track.

Unfortunately that M3 has aftermarket exhausts, but the difference between the cars is big enough, I think a stock DCT M3 stands a good chance.

On that note, I spent a lot of time in USA driving about this time last year, and I must say roads in America are boring. They are straight. Yeah thats about it.

Car mags should come to New Zealand and test their cars on our roads:

Although I still prefer the Winding Road sign I came across when driving down to Lake Waikaremoana. Imagine the above, but with the bottom sign saying "next 300km".

Heaps of road like that in NZ, I go to those so called Scenic Drives from time to time with a friend or two, absolutely thrilling, especially at night =D

But all that about AMG built to drift more and purposely let it drift or something, well if you build a hardout sports car like this, if you're not looking into lap times, what are you looking at? The fact they put a 6.2L V8 in there is trying to go fast, and a quick lap time mean you have a fast car (with a good driver). I still consider AMGs are, of course, very hardcore sports cars, but not that they 'intend' to produce cars with slower lap times, but they can't produce cars with faster laptimes with a good compromise. Looking at that youtube video with the red M3 and white C63, that C63 is nearly a disaster in corners.

I don't get the above video though, why the hell is a M3 even faster in acceleration? That is something i refuse to believe.. with so much more torque/power, even putting it into some crap chassis it will be faster.
