European Delivery MB E350 4-Matic Wagon

Ok, as promised, here are some pics from our European Delivery Trip this past Thanksgiving Weekend.

It was a short trip, landed in Munich, drove to Stuttgart-Sindelfingen in a rental Audi A4 1.6, and picked up our Wagon.

We toured Stuttgart a bit, saw the AMAZING MB Museum and the giant Dealership there. Also checked out some of the shopping.

Sunday - Drove to the Nürburgring, got lost there, almost gave up trying to drive on the Nordschliefe, and FINALLY found it! 4 Amazing laps around the legendary track to test your skills and the car. Even though it was a wagon, it handled fine and the power was plenty to get around.

Have some video clips of it, kind of boring but I can post them on youtube if asked for.

Flew out of Munich after dropping the car off. Just got back a few hours ago, I'll post a few pics, and then some more later this week.

congratulation mate, love that colour and those wheels. Just 1 thing, you guys don't need parktronic? I guess if you can park a G55, you can park anything.

When will the car be shipped over to your place?

Thanks Monster! We didn't deem Parktronic necessary, but we could have used it parking in these tiny parking garages in Germany.

The car should arrive in about 6 weeks, which is an agonizing amount of time

etlomotey: No we did not tour the factory this time. They offered us a free tour though, but we didn't have time for it . Under an older European Delivery, I did go on the factory tour and I described it in detail.

Driving around Deutschland was fantastic! On the Autobahn, the car accelerates with ease. It felt perfectly comfortable going 130 during the limited stretches of open road. There was a bit of congestion, so those high cruising speeds were not as frequent as expected.

The car feels like its RWD, on the 'Ring it felt fine hitting the corners and twisties. Though you could feel the mass of the station wagon behind you a bit, the car transitioned well and was always smooth.

A couple notes with European Delivery: It was not an all expense paid trip, we did have to pay for airline tickets, and most of the hotel accommodations.
What is paid for is one evening at a select hotel(a very nice one), a free tour of the MB Sindelfingen Factory, free meals at the delivery center(delicious), and Taxi Commutting Coupons around Stuttgart. Also, as part of the program, there is a 7% Discount on the vehicle.

The hotels we stayed at were the Graf Zeppelin and the Bayern Hof München. Both hotels were worthy lodgings.

A couple of video clips of Nordschliefe are loading as I write this, its taking a bit of time on youtube. Honestly, they aren't that exciting, because the car is sort of quiet, and there weren't any crazy cars that day.

I recommend if anyone has a free weekend, to take a drive out there out to the 'Ring and hit a few laps.
