Note that this edmunds test was stacked in favor of the used M3 when it came to pricing. $30K for a used 2002 M3. Used cars in this class typically do very well as the initial huge hit in depreciation has already happened. Had they used the as-new price of a 2002 M3 ($46K before options, $54K in today's money), the outcome would have been very different.
The E92 M3 in the AMuS test lost out in points for pricing.
