The BMW M3 is a high-performance version of the BMW 3 Series, developed by BMW's in-house motorsport division, BMW M GmbH. M3 models have been produced for every generation of 3 Series since the E30 M3 was introduced in 1986.
The BMW M4 is a high-performance version of the BMW 4 Series automobile developed by BMW's motorsport division, BMW M, that has been built since 2014. As part of the renumbering that splits the coupé and convertible variants of the 3 Series into the 4 Series, the M4 replaced those variants of the BMW M3. Official website: BMW M
If it's real then they've got some inspiration from the R8.

M Dynamic has nothing to do with EDC.
It's just a special DSC program / mode set by M engineers to fit performance sporty nature of M cars better. This is what I called "active chassis management". According to my info Flexray will be used to control the DSC - meaning collecting info from engine, suspension, brakes, gearbox etc, sending it to DSC unit to be processed, sending specific commands what to do back to the peripherals.
That would be the same as the M Dynamic Mode (MDM) in M5/6, so what's new about? Seems not to be so revolutionary to be "heavily marketed."
So every BMW has "active chassis control" because every BMW has DSC!
No need to hope, this time you could be wrong.E90 platform - as far as I know - was not designed to feature same active suspension components (eg. EDC, ARS etc) as E60/63 platform. But you can hope I'm wrong after all.

No, thats really not my intention! I have no problem if somebody says: Sorry, can't tell you. But this is not the case here. Eni provides a lot of information which I appreciate, but some points are very unlikely/contradictory...
But again I don't want anybody to get in trouble.
So you're right: We ALL will find out more when the car's unveiled.

Everything can be heavily marketed. Eg. Audi are promoting new A5 as the "The coupe. Reinvented."
Do not mix active chassis (or better: stablity) control with active suspension, or active anti-roll stabilization. That would be an "advanced active chassis control".
Marketing can be such a fun sometimes.

Marketing is definitely fun...look at the Aqua Teen Hunger Force marketing that has turned boston into a bunch of idiots. They are so mad at the marketing guys rather than be be pissed at the incompetent peoploe who are incharge. But that is a rant for another time..LOL
This is a good point. I too appreciate hearing advance info about the M3, and I revisit the various fora often to check for the latest.
The only problem I have is when info that is NOT presented as a rumor is contradictory or wrong.
It is disheartening to hear that one feature after another which previously was rumored to be included in the new M3 either ends up watered down or absent entirely. Examples: no EDC, no HUD, no cf roof, vaunted M Dynamics revealed as enhanced DSC.

The spy pics are pointing towards the boot, but all the sources are saying it's going to be on the bumper (as well as the PS's). My feeling is that it will be on the bumper.
