M3/M4 E92 M3 discussion thread III

The BMW M3 is a high-performance version of the BMW 3 Series, developed by BMW's in-house motorsport division, BMW M GmbH. M3 models have been produced for every generation of 3 Series since the E30 M3 was introduced in 1986. The BMW M4 is a high-performance version of the BMW 4 Series automobile developed by BMW's motorsport division, BMW M, that has been built since 2014. As part of the renumbering that splits the coupé and convertible variants of the 3 Series into the 4 Series, the M4 replaced those variants of the BMW M3. Official website: BMW M

In the following months,
BMW will be setting a number of new standards in various vehicle
segments for dynamics and sporty driving pleasure. These high standards
are highlighted by the presentation of a spectacular concept study whose

That makes it two of us. I hope MB and Porsche won't start with spitting out uneccessary hype lines inorder to make their future cars seem better than what they'll end up coming.
Porsche didn't give us any lines for the 997TT or the Cayman. They just realesed the damn cars and they ended up rocking the world. :)

really as far as I know, Z06 rocked the world, not 997TT ;)

Besides the info you read here comes from eni and scott and not anything officiell from BMW. If you dont visited this board you would miss all the markeeting talk.
Dont blame BMW for Scott and Eni's propaganda ;)

yep..porsche and MB doesent do that..atleast not before the car is out
they just realease it without much fuss and let the product speak
and ofcourse hype lines are necessary also.. but i want them together with the car..and not before

PS
Yeah bmer NOW we know that..
but before it was shown..im sure the intention was to creat a false buzz..

Just as a side note, Audi meant reinventing the Audi coupe not the general idea of coupé. ;)
Well when the teaser for the A5 was released...they made it seem like they were reinventing the coupe and not their own coupe. :usa7uh:

I can't say the same for MB, but unlike BMW, Porsche isn't a mass market product maker so they don't need the Marketing hype. And Just_Me is right...it wasn't the Porsches that rocked the world...it was the C6 Z06. :D

LOL you're joking, right? Let's take the C-Class for example shall we, here's some hype press releases for you:

http://www.worldcarfans.com/news.cf...edes/new-mercedes-c-class-comfort-development
http://www.worldcarfans.com/news.cf...s-benz-c-class-with-environmental-certificate
http://www.worldcarfans.com/news.cf...gcf/mercedes/new-mercedes-c-class-the-testing

I'm too tired to find all the similar press releases before the W221 launch. Didn't find any similar hype creating releases from BMW @ GCF. :eusa_thin And like Just_me said, BMW isn't throwing us with any hype lines, it's our insiders who are doing that. The car is going to be presented in mid-September, that's like 6 1/2 months from now. So you think that they would show the car already? That would be almost the same as MB showing the W204 in July 2006. :t-crazy2: So stop whining...
They'll show the concept but it won't propably give us much more info on the production model than we already have.

Guys, all car companies do the same thing, its called marketing! They all do it and there is no point is saying who does it the most or who is the most corny, it is a pointless, matterless, endless argument! The PR machine never stops at any carmaker.

I really can't believe about what you're arguing guys...

:t-cheers:

We have been speculating about this car for over a year. People are getting a little cranky and want to see the damn thing:D. Some people are becoming BMW = Bitchers, Moaners and Whiners, and I'm one of them.:eusa_doh: :D

true, I totally agree. No offence to Eni or Scott, but they're are just venting all their info of the moment; And since the car is about to be launched, at least as a concept, Marketing department is going nuts and are getting ready; However, it's not BMW who are taunting us with matketing lines and one-liners, it's Eni and Scott; Just remember that.

And 6th march, isn't that long, so why no quit the moaning and bitching and just wait a few days to behold the beauty and power of what will be, IMO, the ultimate incarnation of the sportscoupé.

Lol man thoe hypes atleast contained some USEFULL freakin info..
and not just punchlines..
if bmw would give us a masked M3 and a run through of its goodies.. please do so .. we would love that
but cheesy punch lines.. POOOLEEEAAASEEE

PS
I can admit that im damn frustrated over this car.. so maybe that why im whining.. and i know that BMW isnt throwing the lines.... but still i need to ventilate my hate towards this situation..

I know what you mean. But try not to put too much hope in getting concrete info at Geneva. At best, we will be a pretty good idea of the exterior design and maybe hp/tq range, but probably no specific performance specs.

Those will start to come some time before Frankfurt when the production version is shown. My guess is that we will start getting useful info in June.

6th March

6 March the press conference for the bmw M3 .. sound like not a concept M3 .. I hope they just shock us and introduce the M3 not as a concept.. Like the M6 it was introduced without a concept study.. I wish... Its well known that Geneva is tied with M3 concepts ala E46 M3...

BMW M

BMW M GmbH, formerly known as BMW Motorsport GmbH, is a subsidiary of BMW AG that manufactures high-performance luxury cars. BMW M ("M" for "motorsport") was initially created to facilitate BMW's racing program, which was very successful in the 1960s and 1970s. As time passed, BMW M began to supplement BMW's vehicle portfolio with specially modified higher trim models, for which they are now most known by the general public. These M-badged cars traditionally include modified engines, transmissions, suspensions, interior trims, aerodynamics, and exterior modifications to set them apart from their counterparts. All M models are tested and tuned at BMW's private facility at the Nürburgring racing circuit in Germany.
