X5 E70 BMW X5 Facelift Thread (Spy pics & info)

The BMW X5 is a mid-size luxury crossover SUV produced by BMW. The X5 made its debut in 1999 as the E53 model. It was BMW's first SUV. BMW marketed the X5 officially as a "Sports Activity Vehicle" (SAV), rather than an SUV, to indicate its on-road handling capability despite its large dimensions.

FEP phase already? Is this facelift for 2010? Eni or Scott? X6 style bumpers.

I think it doesn´t fit hte X5 in the same way as on the X6, don´t like it at all.

Just testing twin turbo engine, maybe?

I think maybe they are just testing the twin turbo engine with this X6 front bumper.:t-hands: The current bumper maybe doesn't suitable with the twin turbo engine. Btw, It's a bit different shape with those spy photos.

On a 2nd look of the spy pictures, the head lights look too big, un-evens the whole car:eusa_doh:

So it's June....is there no updated info on the 2010 X5 (non M) ?

Is it going to have an X6 front end?
Does it get the turbo 6 & 8 ?
When is it going to go in to production?

anyone? Bueller? Bueller?

No, i don't think so. It's just as with the 3er's M3 sedan facelift...

Which ones do you mean? It already features twin turbo petrol and diesel engines, 6 & 8 cyl...

:t-cheers:

The same petrol engines as the X6? (here in North America)

I know it´s too early for such a question, but maybe there are already some sketches about the new X5 in the works, and I was just wondering if it will have the same evolutionary design we are seeing on the rest of the BMW line-up.

BMW doesn't do the sketches thing like Audi. There is nothing wrong with the design of the X5, it's excellent and thus revisions will be minimal at most. Good ways of refreshing it would be revising the headlights by adding an eyebrow or two, add one or two hood lines and introduce slightly altered bumper designs. All of this to make the car appear fresh rather than dated next to the newer bimmers which have very dramatic lines and eye catching lights. Overall just minor changes to revitalise the car's appearance. Same treatment as the E90 got.

My information are:
- Diesel with 245 hp (with one single-turbo) and 299 hp for the Registerturbo
- 8-speed automatic transmission

About the petrol engines I've unfortunately no piece of information.
Has anybody any information about the Dynamic Performance Control. Will the facelifted E70 get this feature too?
Regards

Andreas

Its supposed to get DPC and TT engines.

F01 7er owners will be so pissed off when they see, or rather hear about, people driving around with the brand new 8 speed automatic in the 5er GT and X5 FL :D

Yes. :D The new 760i/Li will get the 8-speed automatic but I don't know when the others will get it.
Regards

Andreas
