The owner of one of the nicest M4s I've seen is called a MB groupie... interesting; I don't comprehend the logic. Am I also a groupie as a BMW owner who appreciates MBs (and all German automakers)?

Also both @Merc1 and @Mr.Mercedes drive BMWs...

Oh and yeah there is a 4 door king its called the Panamera Turbo S Hybrid PDK PPPC PDWI and other Ps

That one is a fat pig and will be beaten by the E63 S.....for half the price

Dear GCF,

These debates here are utterly superfluous. Just wait until the clear class leader for decades (5 star by autocar) is coming out with their hyper sedan. It will demolish this segment and the one above. And the one below. Jaguar XF-R. You've been put on notice.

Sincerely,
The British automotive media

Probably 6 stars out of 5.

Thanks.

There is no logic. The usual crowd on here don't understand logic. If they were all 12 years old I could understand it, but...

I have owned both an F10 M5 and W212 E63 S. There is no dominant winner between the two. Each has their strong suits and depending on what you want and need, one will be more suitable than the other. I had the F10 M5 when I didn't need to drive it every day. I now have the E63 S because I need to have a car that is all weather capable. They are both amazingly capable cars and I am fortunate to have owned both.

People get so caught up in fanaticism that it blinds them. They can't appreciate really good cars and how even if the "rival" comes out with a better product, it actually helps advance the whole class. I hope the next generation M5 is even better than the W213. That will only fuel the fire and make the next generations even better.

But it’s not all fab, this M550i. Like so many modern steering racks – especially from BMW – I’m left wanting more feedback, more communication through the wheel. Sure, the car changes direction quickly and precisely, but there’s a distinct lack of connection between what the front tires are doing and what my hands actually feel. Thumbing through the different drive settings alters the steering experience slightly, but really it just changes weight and effort.

These were my exact same feelings when I test drove the new 540i XDrive. It actually felt like an isolation chamber, fast with predictable moves but was lacking in feel at what the front end was doing.
Some believe the M5 will share a personality with the M550i, well if that is the case better look out for the E63
in the handling department because most reports say it has lots of imput and some say great feel and feedback transmited at the steering. Steve Sutcliffe from Autocar in particular loved it. I am not drawing conclusions like some hard core fanboys, just looking at track records.

Still not reporting that all press cars had normal tyres substituted for Winter Tyres because of Snow in the region.
