I enjoy looking at beautiful cars as much as the next guy, and I am all for nice rims and body enhancements. I think its time to add some action to this board. Lets not forget what these cars were intended for...
I had the pleasure of meeting with vegastrashed and 2 highly modded e60 M5's. Let me start by saying this is only intended to share videos and run highlights. This proves all of the cars strengths and weaknesses. Hopefully nobody take this the wrong way.
Both runs were from 70-130mph. Vegastrashed was on camera duty that night with a 200lb passenger.
The M5's belong to 2 well respected M5board members and both are stand up guys. Both cars are heavily modified and run very very fast in the top end. My E55 is 100% bone stock.
I did a previous run with vegastrashed from 60-130mph. It was very close until after 130mph when the E63 would pull away from the E55. Clearly showing the gear ratio and top speed advantage of the 63 platform.
The E55 is on the far left lane, E63 middle lane (camera car w/ passenger), M5's took right lanes.
Video shows the E55 putting distance from the pack right from the start, thanks to 516 lb feet of torque! The moment I hit 130mph and lift off the throttle, the M5's have caught up and would have taken over up to whatever ludicrous speed. I think 130mph is plenty fast enough and I am not concerned with what happens after.
