Interesting vehicle sightings, rare finds, exotic cars, classics, and unexpected encounters.
UAE is a very rich and modern country like all the gulf countries , but some people think that untill now we are using the camels:t-banghea

How about this - an SLK with an SLR's engine ......:t-hands:

Im sorry but as some one from Dubai, born and bred, i have a serious problem with this quote. Dubai is an oil rich city that also depends heavly on tourism. How we are spending AMERICAN money is beyond me, or where this uneducated comment came from is a mystery to me.

Yes Dubai has plenty of nice cars, i recognise some i have seen on the streets of dubai and know some of the owners. Most of these cars belong to business people who have worked hard to get what they have.

I challenge the poster to defend his argument! For someting like this can only come out of some one who has been brainwashed by american media.

And where does America get it's oil from? I'm sure calling me "ignorant" made you feel good, but your response sure doesn't put you at any higher of recognition. I'll stop here, there's potential for things to get ugly and I refuse to take it there.:t-cheers: Besides, it was your choice to take my comment as a personal attack.

Firstly, let me say I agree with you ...but why do so many Arabs seem to think American's are "brainwashed" by their Media - that is also an ignorant misunderstanding of western culture - the Media is free in the west - there are many different voices saying many different things - information is not so easily oppressed as it is in some parts of the world - also (although I am not an American) do not underestimate the intelligence of the average American - why is it so acceptable for people to make such sweeping statements about the intelligence of Americans - sure there are some real morons in the US - but there are real morons everywhere. In my experience, although the US is generally quite a conservative nation, American's are some of the most open-minded and accepting people in the world - I know there is much anti-American feeling in the world today - but let's not assume that all Americans are ignorant and stupid.

The UAE, like any other country, has the right to use it's resources and trade them with other countries - Deutsch - when you say they are spending American money, I would remind you that it's not just the US that uses oil - if American's have such a problem with fuel prices - then they should stop building and buying such large vehicles and start driving hybrids.

* SPENDING AMERICAN MONEY * haha , that is the funniest comment i have ever read ,,,Sorry Deutsch but u are going way too far with the jealousy... and u dont want to take it any further because u dont even know what ur talking about ...

I understand that, it was a casual reference taken to the extreme. Any reasonable person would have read it, then dismissed it, but what else can I say, people will be people, no?:D

Thanks notic - that's informative ...I knew Canada was a large oil producer but I didn't know they were the US's biggest foreign supplier, very interesting, thanks again.

no problem. keep in mind the list was made in 2004 though. i don't really know how accurate it is now, especially with political the situations in venezuela, nigeria and iraq. although i think canada and mexico are still on top.

America gets most of its oil from the middle east. Its called TRADE, you cannot call it american money.

Now if you want to look for american money, look no furthur than Iraq.

It's comments like these that I wish not to entertain, but since this is by far the most ignorant post in this entire thread, I had to point it out. Jealousy? From where? Where's the hate or envy in anything I've said? I just see people that are making an inpersonal comment personal. Now that's stupid.:usa7uh: Stupidity is something I just don't deal w/. Sad to say, Moss, but I really expected more from you.

If you're going to take it personal and create some illusion, be my guest. You're reading WAY too many implications into my words and making this something it was never meant to be, and I won't apologize because I said nothing wrong. :t-cheers:

Okay, im not going to sort throught this thread any further, if you guys like to continue this INTELLECTUAL conversation feel free and PM me and i will gladly create an OFF-TOPIC thread in regards to your posts and even move these posts there to start the convo.

Otherwise stay on topic, this is a sightings thread of exotics and structural art such as buildings and so on...

Alex, believe me there LOTS of people who still seriously believe that!

Now People please could we get beck to the topic? It's by far the most intresting picture thread here nd it'll be a shame if it ends up to be a political discussion :)

I couldnt agree more :) With all due respect to everybody here. That was an ignorant comment. Not blaming anybody though, not blaming him, its sad how many people have been brainwashed by the media.

My friend, we in the UAE do not depend on American money to build our nation. We my friend depend heavily on tourism, financial services, real estate, and investments we make abroad. For instances there was an article on the Abu Dhabi Investments Authority in a financial magazine stating that the state-owned authority is worth an estimate USD 500 Billion. True this came from the oil in the beginning, but its not American money :) its from everywhere. :)

Not trying to sound mean or anything. Just didnt like the fact that people do relate wealth made here to american money. Anyways sorry for going off topic :).

:t-cheers:
