Man these cars sounded great ....don’t know if BMW will ever produce better sounding cars in this turbo era most likely not.

The E60 M5 and E92 M3 will become all time classics in the future I reckon as they are the last models to have brilliant sounding high revving NA large capacity V8 and V10 engines.

Saw this a few days ago and found it surprisingly close. Much closer than expected.

Agreed on the noise. Both go down as the best of what M division used to be about. Having driven an E92 M3 a while back, it really got me interested in high-revving V8s as it truly was an awesome experience.

Ahhh. The days before BMW pumped fake sound into the cabin.

The E60 M5 is on my list of cars I must one day experience. Its a unicorn, and one of few four door V10 cars ever made.

The real problem is that customers don't know exactly what they want!

When BMW used to make fantastic N/A High-Revving engines, people would complain by saying some rivals have more torque.

Then BMW responded by using Turbocharged engines with tons of torque in M cars and now they say BMW has lost the fun factor!

Whatever they do, they can't satisfy the customers!

I still think the E46 M3 has the engine without going to the exotics...
