A simple question.
Do you have more respect for Audi, since the release of the B7 AUDI RS4?

I was impressed with the RS4 but not enaugh to make me want an AUDI. So no i dont have more respect for Audi since the B7 RS4.

I have always respected Audi. I have friends that own both the Rs4 Biturbo and the RS4 V8. I have also driven the RS6 and I liked the car except for the automatic gearbox. If you come from Europe you have respected Audi for a very long time.

Thanks to the R8 & upcomming RS6 I will..

The RS4 is still old... The best thing with the RS4 is the 40/60 Quattro-Split

(Btw I Have Allways Loved Audi)

Klier always respected Audi, he doesn't need cars like RS4...;) :D

Same goes for me.

I always liked and respected Audi. Now, we seriously have to fear them because they've stepped up their game big time and are now a true alternative to BMW or MB.

Btw, that pic I posted in the first post is pure...
PORNOGRAPHY!!! :)
*Homer Simpson accent* :D

I don't understand how an external realisation can make me respect more Audi.

Yes, I do. Actually it wasn't until recently that Audi's products have appealed to me, but the RS4 was a turning point. Especially Sport Auto's supertest.

:t-cheers:

well i didnt have any respect for audi until recently..i dont know when it started..maybe with this A4 and A8..
before that imo they made boring cars..period..
the RS4 made me see Audi in an even more glorified light.. that car brought them up to (almost) MB and BMW standard ..
so yes the RS4 had a big impact:D

No, not in the least! A few year's ago (I believe it was 04) I test drove a A8 4.2, It was the most amazing luxury saloon I'd ever driven. The 7 Series and S-Class didn't even belong in the same class with such and amazing machine!
From that point on nothing Audi has and will do can create more respect for thier brand in my eyes than that first test drive in a A8!:)

Pre B7 RS4 I didn't have that much respect for Audi as a performance brand. I always concidered their cars to in between MB and BMW, i.e a perfect balance between comfort and handling. The B7 RS4 is probably Audi's toughest attack against BMW up to date and has showed me that Audi knows how to develop hardcore sedans.
But there's another side to it. Although the RS4 has a fantastic engine and is one hell of a performer it has racing tyres as a standard option. The tyres has given the car a big egde in comparisons agasint other cars. More over the RS4 tested by Sports auto was equiped with carbon ceramic brakes and sport suspension, if my memeory doesn't fail me. Without carbon ceramic brakes and racing tyres the RS4's nurburgring laptime would easily be several seconds slower. If the E90 M3 comes equiped with racing tyres and carbon ceramic brakes it will most likely beat be as good or even beat the RS4 on any track.
With that being said BMW is still the better brand when it comes to performance. Still Audi's a damn good cars.

That's correct, your memory is working ;) The RS4 had ceramic brakes, the Sports suspension and Pirelli race style tyres.

After Audi released the RS4, it definitely increased my respect for the brand. Audi has time and again released even more and more groundbreaking (for Audi, at least) products like the S8 and RS4 which showed a marked departure from staid products it used to make before, especially before the corporate grille era.

However, what I don't like is that they are slow in their product releases - for example, we haven't seen the RS6 and the Q7 is a few years late.

Easy there. No insulting please.

Insult? It wasn't an insult. I just didn't get what he said.

Audi

Audi AG is a German automotive manufacturer of luxury vehicles headquartered in Ingolstadt, Bavaria, Germany. A subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, the company’s origins date back to the early 20th century and the initial enterprises (Horch and the Audiwerke) founded by engineer August Horch (1868–1951). Two other manufacturers (DKW and Wanderer) also contributed to the foundation of Auto Union in 1932. The modern Audi era began in the 1960s, when Volkswagen acquired Auto Union from Daimler-Benz, and merged it with NSU Motorenwerke in 1969.
