Seems like the new direction wants to destroy all the efforts made by the old one to make volkswagen cars more exiting.

The old direction didn't really work anyway, I was never a fan of those garish chrome faces. The new facelifted Phaeton started to show VW's new design stance, so no chrome face there, just a touched up elegant design without unnecessary details. I like that.

When i am talking about old direction, i talk about Gunak team and what they have done is very good imo, the first and the only car we know that they designed is the Eos, but all the concepts they have shown were great and it was a good indicator about the design they were planning to offer. The message was very simple: Exiting volkswagens and the scirocco was a great example. But from what i read lately, it seems that the Vag new boss wants to bring back the "conservative" vags and that's why he asked designers to redesign the front of scirocco wich was judged too much agressive for the vag clients.
