DaSilva's First Car

Smarts are cool looking cars. The coupe/roadster especially. They serve their purpose and do it well. If I lived in a city like San Francisco I would buy a smar in a heartbeat. Good choice for your first car, will give you lots of experience. Getting an expensive luxury car as your first car is never a "smart" dicision...LOL

I'm soon ready to make my call and get a SMART :D
I have just found out that I will get these rims for the car..

My car will actually stay original cause I found a car I want much more..
But I can't afford it right now.

I will hopefully test the SMART later this week.. :usa7uh: Photo's and driving impressions then!

:D Finally My own car... Can't wait!!

I have bad memories of the Smart Roadster I drove - then again I've heard other people praise the handling so maybe there was something wrong with the car I drove (steering wise). But the jerky transmission still seems to be a problem in terms of refinment. Either way it's an ok first car. Nice color choice, will look good on your Smart and the rims too! :t-cheers:

Well.. :D Don't forget that Smart is a Mercedes and I have heard people say that they have seen Smart cars with Mercedes badge!

:t-drive: All cars have their faults but I think this is one of the better cars to have faults with.

There's not much Mercedes in Smarts to be brutally honest. Mercedes makes really good automatic transmissions for example, but the transmission in the Smart ForTwo and Roadster felt really terrible. Unrefined, lousy shifts...just terrible.

Actually IMO, Smart isn't the kind of brand that offers tons of driving excitement. Their auto transmissions aren't so good, nor they have powerfull engines.

All what smart is about is style/fashion and they practicity (sp?) of driving a very small car.... No one said that Smart makes phat cat cruisers nor M3s.

:t-cheers:

PS. I know that they make lousy auto trannys from first hand though... It is an undeniable fact...

The engines aren't powerful, but Smart's aren't heavy either. In fact the Smart Roadster I drove had the turbo engine and it was fast as hell!

I drove the old 65hp (?) fortwo and it was just ok for downtown i tested it...

:D I'm getting a 82BHP which I will tune up towards 110BHP ... :usa7uh:
Brabus machine "only" has 101BHP...

Fully agrees with carwimmer, no need to tune it up. Really.

Save money, turbo and transmission, and don't do that.

The Brabus has different intercooler and other modifications, not only electronic, to keep it reliable! And everybody said the additionnal power was not really needed... This car is about feeling, not power.

The pleasure come from the incredible noise, the very low driving position (like a karting, you always think "god am I fast" and then you see the video and you were reaally slow...), from the feeling of the road by the steering (if not power steering much better) and suspensions, the steering-paddles of Schumi (a bit slower maybe), the total absence of body-rolling.... :eusa_danc

More power is not really necessary, the turbo is already rather brutal!

Tip: at standstill, accelerating is more brutal if you press the kick-down button, the gearbox lets the motor revving higher before it brutally gears in first gear! Funny... :usa7uh:

btw about the tuning I will only do a re-mapp. I'm saving money for one of the 10 R-Coupe Collectors edition ever built..

YOU KNOW.. I'm smart =)

Owwww this video reminds me how I LOVED that car....

Mine was a black Roadster-coupe with grey Tridion structure, black interior, it had the 3 double-spokes 16' wheels, the steering pad and the two little T°/turbo meters; and that's all!!!

Don't need more!

Too bad I had to sell it because I needed more space... :eusa_doh:

The collectors edition are those whith mate brown paint and brown leather inside, isnt'it? These are just to die for... :icondrool

That's Correct !! Those are just to die for*
I glad you have such a good experience with the Smart.
:t-drive:

:t-cheers:

God damn guys!! and girls;) !!

I think I'm starting to go mad..

I cant decide what to buy anymore.. :eusa_doh:

I want a Smart, Cooper Cabrio, 90 Coupé, 80 Cabrio, ... :t-banghea
but I can't chose one of them..

80 cab is pssy magnet.. but no quattro.. 90 Coupé is hardcore with 2.8 V6 and quattro.. cooper cabrio is a little bit wrong wheel drive and not alot of power but cute as hell and the girls loves it.. the smart is brilliant but only 2 seater and also expensive..

HELP!!
