Lukas: You need the hybrid to set these track record times. You just can't get it with a RWD only car. You need that lively front axle. Also, when you're rear wheel limited on grip, that's when you can deploy the front wheel power.
I don't know about that. Koenigsegg was faster at Laguna Seca with RWD. As for the other tracks, those production records aren't contested enough for him to make such an assertion. It's only true for cars of similar weight class..

It is very much feasible for a RWD car to beat Czinger's lap records. Such a car would have to be hundreds of kilos lighter. And while those are rare, I can name two other models with potential to prove Lukas wrong.

Larry: Why 2.88 liters?
Lukas: You know, that's an outcome from these engineering studies...
This guy could be a politician. Tiptoeing around inconvenient truth like a pro.
(And he shouldn't have to. There's nothing wrong with using Kawasaki heads. The rest of the engine is still very impressive.)

Larry: Do you think after all of this learning, you could potentially go faster next time?
Lukas: Yes. This is about continuous pursuit. And certainly we want our next variant, our next vehicle, our next option, to increase performance as well.
Why do I smell E85? 🤔

I didn't expect such a big improvement. Bravo!
Maybe it's time for Koenigsegg to throw in the towel and focus on European campaign instead (preferably Nordschleife).

It does seem like Czinger finally perfected their energy deployment strategy to take advantage of all that power. That said, it's telling how they're never upfront about what fuel they're using and how much horse power this allows for in these record runs. Is there an undisclosed flex fuel mod running a mix of ethanol? With this brand I just don't have the confidence to tell everything is 100% legit every time.

chart notes:
1) The 1:24.39 run by 21C is missing - Czinger never released onboard video.
2) I didn't include Koenigsegg data because there is a strange discrepancy in indicated wheel speed between Sadair's Spear and Jesko (and it's incomplete anyway). The above figures all come from GPS telemetry and I'd hate to ruin it with potentially bad data.

Is there a source to this?
My bad I thought I heard it in their video announcement but rather it was about the 90 decibels limit and aluminum wheels not the fuel it was running, could’ve sworn I heard it somewhere.
