Lukas: You need the hybrid to set these track record times. You just can't get it with a RWD only car. You need that lively front axle. Also, when you're rear wheel limited on grip, that's when you can deploy the front wheel power.
I don't know about that. Koenigsegg was faster at Laguna Seca with RWD. As for the other tracks, those production records aren't contested enough for him to make such an assertion. It's only true for cars of similar weight class..

It is very much feasible for a RWD car to beat Czinger's lap records. Such a car would have to be hundreds of kilos lighter. And while those are rare, I can name two other models with potential to prove Lukas wrong.

Larry: Why 2.88 liters?
Lukas: You know, that's an outcome from these engineering studies...
This guy could be a politician. Tiptoeing around inconvenient truth like a pro.
(And he shouldn't have to. There's nothing wrong with using Kawasaki heads. The rest of the engine is still very impressive.)

Larry: Do you think after all of this learning, you could potentially go faster next time?
Lukas: Yes. This is about continuous pursuit. And certainly we want our next variant, our next vehicle, our next option, to increase performance as well.
Why do I smell E85? 🤔
