Poll Comparison: BMW i8 vs Porsche 911 (Anniversary Edition)

When the first iPhone came out (basically the i8), it was innovative, but the following generations were still revolutions because the tech was still fairly immature at the time. The S5 (basically the 911), while still an improved product from its predecessor, is just a fairly basic upgrade from the S4. The tech is more mature and they're basically refining at this point.

I agree with likening the i8 to the original iPhone but if that is true then the 991 should have been the Nokia 6210 a brilliant phone but devoid of all the tech present in the iPhone.

For the first 6 months I was like WTF but the car has grown on me. Not seen the car IRL but based on photos I8 is quite a cool looking car. I def. understand why people choose this and not a 911.
A Porsche 911 is like Volvo V70 in Sweden, like everywhere while the I8 is as common like a polar bear on a skateboard.

I really do appreciate and respect what BMW has done with the the i8, but for this old-timer, I have to go with my heart and would choose the 911. Simply one of the most aspirational sports cars ever made.
