Coffee/Tea Drinkers

BytV9gvIUAEI.webp

As the diagram suggests, I am a coffee drinker. I prefer whatever's available with much sugar. A huge cup of cappuccino when it's cold, or a nice freddo espresso when it's warmer. A cup of greek coffee on Sunday morning and a good old machine coffee when in a hurry.

I despise tea.

Tea drinker here, I am English after all :D

My drinking habits vary. Most of the time at work, it'll be something like Twinings Assam or English Breakfast. Since I'll usually load it up with milk and sugar I'm not really that picky, but I do drink quite a bit of the stuff.

At home I'll try slightly different stuff. I'm not a fan of anything overly fruity, but I'm quite partial to Twinings Revitalising Nettle tea... I find with a shot of Rum in it, it has a very calming effect on me, almost anesthetic!

I don't mind coffee, but I'm rampantly against mainstream coffee shop culture.

Wake up with a cup of tea.
Coffee pretty much throughout the working day starting with a cappuccino. I'm client based and travel to different sites and I'm very fussy about my tea!
One or two cups of tea once home.

Well I'm not an engineer, even though I did try to graduate as a mechanic engineer, but chemistry and I never got along, so I switched to business management or simply business school and I'm not proud of it.

Anyway, I prefer coffee as well and share your hatred for tea. In fact I go the extra mile and I don't trust people who drink tea... In the same way I also don't trust people who don't f#cking swear.

Coffee here. No sugar no cream.

First cup in the morning is to wake me enough to leave the house.
Second cup thoughtout the day and often reheated several time in the microwave. The second cup is crucial for proper functioning at work.

@Giannis I am in the construction business and am 90% of the time drinking coffee and 10% drink tea. I need at least 2 strong cups of Nescafé in the morning to get me going and during the day another 3 cups which can be office tea boy made cappuccino or I even have a strong blend of crude oil (Turkish coffee) which gives me a kick!

For me coffee with milk. Two cups in the morning, for the rest of the day 4-6 further cups. A life without coffee is the same like without chocolate: for me unthinkable.:)

I was actually referring to Rolf's post, since I hadn't seen yours at the time I wrote mine, but still. You both must have some really strong stomachs.

I had to cut down on coffee quantities some years ago - doctor's orders.

But sometimes I dring localy prepared coffee. more info about it you can find http://www.bbc.com/travel/story/20140707-the-complicated-culture-of-bosnian-coffee

its diferent way of preparing and has a really good taste.

Same thing can be found in Greece, called greek coffee.

It does taste really good, but it's a skill that needs to be mastered. When I try to prepare this thing, it tasted more like weird water than coffee.

:D

It's the same with me I need coffee and chocolate everyday. If i don't get my caffeine fix I get headaches. Most times I got a cast iron stomach so the coffee is not a bother. It's the spicy hot chicken briyani I have for lunch that could get my stomach going LOL :geek:

Coffee lover here.
1x in the morning. Regularly. Almost always cappuccino, sometimes macchiato.
1x after lunch. Occasionally. Espresso.
Made with semi-profi espresso machine. We have been loyal to De'Longhi for years now.
Always with sugar. 1 spoon. Preferably brown sugar.
Favorite brand of every-day coffee: illy (preferably whole been dark roast blend)

My lady and I also like to buy some fine single-origin Arabica coffee beans ... there's quite some selection available here (in specialized coffee shops, and even from illy) from different regions & growers around the world ..., ground them at home with an old-style manual grounder just before needed, and make a delicious to-die-for espresso in an original Bialetti moka pot. Either from single-origin Arabica, or we make our own blend from various ones. We just really like to spoil our guests with such a coffee treat ... offered with organic sugarcane brown sugar. a true coffee delight! It maybe sounds pretentious but it really is a perfect culinary delight for true coffee lovers! :)

I despise filter coffee beverages though, and find them an insult to coffee. Like I found spritzer to be an insult to wine. Who came up with such a blasphemous idea??? ;)

Tea ... I just consume herbal tea (mint, hibiscus, rosehip, chamomile, alpine herbal mix tea etc), not the real one made from the real tea plant, which I don't really like. Never have. I also don't like "friut tea" ... made from grounded dried fruit of any sort.

Elaborate enough? rofl! :D

P.S.: I forgot to mention some special coffee delights of mine ... for special occasions: Irish coffee (double or triple espresso + sugar + some super-fine Irish whiskey + semi-whipped cream) in the winter, and iced coffee (double or triple espresso + sugar + fresh, organic home-made vanilla ice cream + whipped cream) in the summer. Delicious!

Coffee lover here as well. Only half&half
Absolutely no sugar, ever. I can drink it hot or cold. I usually go to Starbucks or Scooters because I am on the go quite early.
2 cups a day, first one is the primer, the second one is the fuel.

I can drink in the evening as well but prefer very dark German chocolate
to finish up the day.

Ok, T, you got me fired up.

I'll stop by the closest illy shop tomorrow morning and ask them about their coffee beans.

If it's even half as good as you describe it, I'll pay-pal you a 6-pack of beers.

:D

Giannis ... It's all down to personal taste. I like illy coffee the best - for every day use.
While some don't like it at all. Some like the extra bitterness in coffee, some don't. Some like more roasted coffee, some don't. Some like the extra caffeine punch, some don't. So ...
But I personally find it better than any other Italian coffee brand. Although Lavazza is also very good, although I still prefer illy over it.

Yet still ... it's still a mass-produced coffee brand & blend ... For real gastronomic delight you'll have to find some really specialized & well supplied coffee shop - the beans in those shops are usually a level or two higher than the beans by mass-available brands though.
Due to well-developed coffee culture here where I live, we (fortunately) have quite a good availability & offer of really special coffee beans of really good quality.

Italian-style coffee is standard here - especially in coffee shops, bars, restaurants, wending machines etc. While at home most people prefer to prepare Turkish-style coffee (brewed in cezve pot; I think you call it briki in Greece), mostly using "local" coffee blend brand.

Still ... when it comes to coffee ... nothing beats Italian coffee. Pizza, pasta, coffee, mozzarella and even some wines ... nothing beats the Italian stuff IMHO.

@GTA8.5

Extra Dark Chocolate + coffee = (almost) orgasm ;) :D
Moser Roth ... nice. I get it in Hofer / Aldi Süd here. Practical packaging too.
Although I prefer even a bit darker ones. 85% dark chocolate is a perfect combination IMHO. 75% or less is to sweet, 90% is to bitter and especially too dry.
