I dont know if this is part of PH or something else on the side but

It's something else on the side.

It's called DRIVE.

"The world doesn't need another "car show." It needs a dedicated network for gearheads. And that's what DRIVE is aiming to deliver on YouTube this January.

Produced by Tangent Vector's JF Musial (those great Porsche vids recently? That's him and his crew) and hosted by Chris Harris, Mike Spinelli, Leo Parente, Alex Roy and an assorted cast of characters, DRIVE will be putting out a range of auto-related shows covering everything from car reviews to motorsports.

Musial tells Autoblog that Harris will be the point-man for video reviews, with Parente handling motorsports coverage, Spinelli doing some form of news show and Roy taking his antics around the world for road-trip stories. So this isn't just a single show, but a series of artfully crafted online videos that are part of YouTube's original content push."

From Autoblog.

^Ok then. If there is somebodies opinion I should follow, then it is his. He judges the cars for what they are, not for brand or anything of the kind. He was even the first to admit that the 458 Italia was a better drivers car than the MP4-12C. I want to hear his review on the new Toyota GT86 / Subaru BRZ.

In the February issue, editor Nick Trott addresses Harris's departure, and talks about who will be filling his shoes.

Talk about a coup!

I've read a few pieces by Jethro, and he's quite good. And Tiff's the effing man! In fact, I prefer Tiff over Clarkson because when Tiff gets excited, he's like a little kid. And you can tell he's having a blast. Clarkson, while he has his moments, his pseudo-intellectual and sarcastic style wears on me. Here I was sad about Harris leaving Evo, but I might have worried for nothing. In fact, it may have gotten better over at Evo. Now, if only the subscription wasn't so damn expensive in the States....

Well then, evo has come full circle since Meaden and Bovingdon flew the coop for Driver's Republic. The core team of so many years is back now: Barker, Meaden, Bovingdon, Catchpole led by Metcalfe. Chris Harris can only be replaced, man-for-man, by Steve Sutcliffe but Bovvers together with Tiff makes for a more than adequate substitute! This is a terrific development for EVO. My subscription remains, gladly.

I watched that a few days ago, highly enjoyed it except for the guy narrating. His tone was a bit too much soap-commercial.

To me Bovingdon's article on the F430 vs the F40 will stay in my mind for a long time. I was surprised that he left a few years ago but I am glade he is back to where he belongs.

The Mercedes C63 AMG Experiment - Chris Harris ON CARS

Mercedes 480bhp C63 AMG coupe, with optional power upgrade, already has more than enough power to trouble its rear tyres. What happens when you remove some of that grip? Good things, that's what.

"On the street, fun is better than speed."

Amen to that! Interesting to note once again that even the standard AMG's tires are so narrow. Something the SLS shares to a lesser extent (though that car is extremely fast given the relatively modest rubber).

I'll miss his reviews on evo. It's a pity... probably the best car journalist today.

Funny, I enjoy Harry Metcalfe's review as well. Specially evo's Diaries on YouTube.

Looks like Nick Trott is departing EVO as well
