I've driven the VW Passat CC today and yesterday! 2.0 TDI, manual, full option. Great car.....the automatic parking option is freaking awesome!!
If we ONLY look at the side view pic, the Passat even is the prettiest of them all, imo!

The CLS wins for me. It's the original and all the others should be better looking than the 'prototype' that started the whole niche, but they don't. Some look better in particular areas, but overall the CLS and VW have done this concept the best imo.

Rapide and CS are the best looking ones, but both are concepts. Passat CC is the best looking of the production ones. I saw the one with the sports package (the one they showed at Montrey) and was stunned at how good it looked.

The Porsche and the Jag doesn't really look like a coupe.

The Fisker Karma is the sexiest HANDS DOWN! I mean come on! Just look at it. The Aston Martin would look pretty cool as well if it didint look so much like a stretched DBS.

The CC looks great in some photos, and ghastly in others. I guess the proof is in person.

I vote the CLS. The original is still the best in terms of proportion. A tough act for MB, and anyone else for that matter, to follow, but I'm sure they'll come out swinging.

^ From what I've seen in spy pics so far, the next gen CLS is going to be even better than the current one....just as sexy, but obviously more modern. And most important: less banana because of that new wheelarch that the E and E coupé have too. I'm looking forward to the new CLS more than the E-coupé, that's for sure!

^Well, the camo is still pretty heavy on the A7, but that car (for me) is the one that could either turn out to be pretty sweet or very ugly, I'm not sure yet ;)

The next gen CLS will be a sight to behold. They've got experience now with this kind of cars unlike all the others, and the styling of the new E will look very good on this car!

The next gen 6er will be a classic coupé and, like E65 vs F01, be less controversial. For two full generations, 6er will not have 'real' competition in the form of a true coupé from any of the German car makers. Mercedes has the CLS 4 door (E-coupé will not compete with next gen 6er), Audi the A7 4 door and Porsche the Panamera of which I am not quite sure what to call it.

(E-coupé will not compete with next gen 6er),

Are you so sure about that?

I would think being an E-Class would make the coupe more upscale like the E. The E and 5er we know are direct compeditors. If one believes the new E-Coupe can`t compete with the 6er theres always the CLS which is even more upscale than the E-Class and already competes with the 6er pricewise.

Aston - It is just a DB9 with extra doors - boring and unimaginative.

Karma - Is stunning inside and out - but I want a real engine with those looks, not some electric mess. I so hope they use a BMW I6 or MB V8 to power "other" versions of the car.

I agree with your opinion about the Rapid!
It just pulls the purity out of the DB9.. I don`t see the point in that at all.
It`s not a successfull attempt at the coupe theme simply because the design is not orignal.

The Karma pulls it off better (depite some generic touches) it`s way more dynamic looking!

I like the Lambo to but somehow the C-post makes it look like an excutive sedan.

These cars are not coupes, thay shouldn`t be seen as such..
I call them 4-door exotics.

I voted for the KARMA based on pure looks alone. It pulls off the Coupe-look the best out of the bunch IMO but of course, the CLS paved the way.
I don't know why the Jag is in there at all, why not the A6 then ... :t-hands:

Yes, CLS is more upscale than E-coupé. E-coupé is based on C-class, whether we like that or not.
CLS competes more with the 6er, but the 6er really is in between CLS and SL; take a CLS and 6er with the same engine, and the Bimmer will end up being around 12k more expensive, base price.

It`s not rather we like it or not. It`s how those values are determined.
Bugatti is owned by VW (some rumers have it that it`s engines might be distantly related to the W8 in the last generation Passat) That ownership doesn`t deter Bugatti`s value system as bing the world most expensive and most powerful production car.;)

The rear seat is rather usless in the 6er I can agree with that first statement. Your last statement I can`t agree with cause the size and power rating of the CLS550 and BMW650i is just about equal. If you tac-on options for both cars the prices can very quit a bit. If BMW is using $12,000 more in optional equipment thay might have just added jet rockets under the rear wheels at $6000 a piece.:D

Anyways my vote went to the CLS.

I have no clue what you're saying.
I know all I said is that the E-coupé, like the current CLK, WILL NOT compete with the 6er. 6er is more upscale.

Again I have no clue what you're saying, sorry :t-crazy2: I said the base price of a 6er (650i) is more than €10,000 MORE than a base CLS (CLS 500)
The basic car with no options is basicly the same for BMW and Merc, and the option list is equally as big.

Really?! 12Gs. I need to check up on that one
