Cayenne Chinese Porsche Cayenne - UNFRIGGIN BELIEVEABLE!

The Porsche Cayenne is a series of automobiles manufactured by Porsche since 2002. It is a luxury crossover SUV, and has been described as both a full-sized and a mid-sized vehicle.

Piston Pioneer
Whiskey Tango Foxtrot!? This has gone far enough. SOMETHING has to be done about these shameless copyright infringements.

Furthermore the lawnmower engine that is going to power this POS is a complete joke. :t-banghea

BYD T6: Chinese Maker Readying Porsche Cayenne SUV Clone with 2.0-Liter Engine!

In any other case, we'd have a hard time believing it, but when you're talking about Chinese automakers of the likes of BYD Auto that has a history of cloning other vehicles such as the Lexus RX-lookalike "S6 SUV" and the Toyota Aygo-esque "F0 minicar", everything is possible, even the creation of a Porsche Cayenne SUV knockoff. The above image of the Porsche Cayenne featuring a photoshoped BYD Auto grille circulated in numerous Chinese sites, but we managed to pinpoint the original scan on a Chinese forum.

We're not entirely sure if the photo is from an official brochure as suggested since there's a possibility that it could be sourced from a car magazine. Either way, while we have no knowledge of the Chinese language, we're presuming that the closing sentences in the article mean that BYD Auto's T6 Cayenne knockoff is planned to be introduced in September 2010 and that it will be equipped with a 2.0-liter engine.

BYD Auto T6 Porsche Cayenne - CarscoopBYD Auto isn't the only Chinese firm that has adopted vehicle cloning as an accepted development strategy. As we saw once again at last month's Shanghai Auto Show, many automakers from China follow this method to create new cars like the Landwind X8 - Mitsubishi Outlander, Great Wall Florid - Scion xA, Lifan 320 - MINI Cooper, Yema SQJ6451 - Subaru Forester and Geely GE - Rolls Royce Phantom.

We'll keep a close eye on the "BYD T6" Cayenne story and if (or when) we find something new, we'll post it up immediately.

Yeah I saw these news was gonna post it but meh to lazy. Thanks! What can you expect about foreign far away countries not caring about making cheaper much the same looking alternative. :t-banghea

This could be a photoshop, the actual car won't be released until September next year.

I've just realized... I'm hate the "Chinese Auto-Industry" more than any other existing industry on this planet! :t-banghea

It's a photoshop, but imagine what the real thing will look like. This is Geely GE all over again.

This BYD POS will look like the Cayenne. Porsche will sue these mofos and the BYD press speaker will act all innocent and proclaim that the BYD T6 "looks nothing like the Porsche Cayenne and he doesn't know what the fuzz is all about."
:t-crazy2:

This will propably make you guys even more pissed on the freakin' chineses: :eusa_danc

That wannabe Chinese C-Class looks like a total POS. Huge gaps between the sheetmetal, the lights and grille look improperly fitted to the bodywork too.

It looks like it will fall apart the moment you leave the showroom. Why is the West being such pansy's when it coms to the Chinese copyright-screwers and Somalian pirates?

I remember seeing a documentary about commercial shipping that runs through the pirate-infested waters around the Somalian coast and they are by international law not allowed to have weapons onboard. Screw international law in this case. This is a question of safety and how I can defend myself if the need arises. I'd say lets pack on some heat and blow these pirate mofos out of the water if they come and want to play. :t-banghea

The military vessels from various nations patrolling the seas in that region should not act like total p_ssies and refrain from firing on pirates. On the contrary they should pursue, sink those bastards boats and take some prisoners. We should show some friggin balls and fight back.

Just my opinion. God, am I having a bad day or what? :D

Ok I have no idea why the west is so soft on the pirates, but I think I know why the west can't do anything about the Chinese copyright infringement issues. First of all, the Chinese government probably has investment in these companies, so there is no chance they will enforce copyright laws. 2nd of all most of these companies lack moral standards and all they are after are the quick and easy profit. It will take years of public education and some more to correct their ways.

China is a communist dictatorship. Go figure.
In theory, perhaps. But in practice it's a bit more complicated than that. China unscrupulously utilizes a combination of capitalism and totalitarianism in a ratio that is most beneficial to its own objectives.

Anyway, back to topic...

It's interesting they are already using photoshops based on the cars they are going to copy to present their future models...

I'm no lawyer, so why would copyright legislation in one country apply to another? Not that I'm ok with the Chinese being totally incapable of producing any original thoughts, but I'm curious.
