I am confused

I like C 200 Kompressor torque and acceleration . and its tax and price are lower than C220CDI . but you know Diesel is low price and way too much on the road !

Kompressor or Diesel ? which one you choose ?

I would choose the C 220 CDI - because it's a diesel! Normally, everyone say, a diesel is worthwhile when you drive over 15.000 km. But Mercedes diesels are just great and normally they worthwhile at the first kilometre!

I have the same question but with one more choice C230. C200K, C230 and C220CDI have similar performance and price. And I still don't understand why they produce both C200K and C230? They should offer C230K, IMO.

By the way, anybody know if w204 has adaptive brake with HOLD function like in E or S class. I know it has hill start assist but not sure about HOLD function.

hi i own a w204 c220cdi

in my opinion i would take it over a c200k

its more economical ,the service interval is same..and the torque is great..

i used to drive only petrols till about 3 years back when i bought a c270cdi..then a e270cdi and now i have even a ml320cdi

well i can give u a direct comparision between the ml350 and ml320cdi

i owned both the 320 which i still have is way better...more power and way way more economical the torque is great...yeah you may miss the sound off the petrol..

but as for the c i havent driven a c200k,,,but the c220cdi which i own is brilliant

hope i am off any help to you question

Both are good choices, but I personally would go for the C220 CDI because of that extra torque which translates into effortless acceleration. The C200 Kompressor is not underpowered, but compared to the C220 CDI it feels a little slower and "torqueless".

I've driven both. The C220 CDI wins hands down in my book.

But C200 K is 184 HP > C220 CDI 170 HP ! How does about ! C200 K has more Horse Power ?

nice words !

but I did 15000 KM in a 2 years with Kompressor is that worth C 220 CDI with that usage !

if you drive 15000km in 2 years, then the premium you pay for the C220CDI over the C200K would not be saved from the lower fuel consumption (quite far from it actually, according to my calculations). That said, I think it's also the slightly better-accelerating bit which adds to the price of the CDI.

Perhaps you get to stand out from the crowd of C200K's on the road with the CDI? :t-cheers:

If you turn to the MB brochure for the C-Class, the CDI accelerates 0-100 around 0.4sec faster than the Kompressor. Perhaps it's to do with more torque, I'm not familiar with the mechanics of an engine and their functions though.

I think anything above 10-15,000 km makes a diesel worth it if I recall correctly. German magazines usually stress that you need to drive over 10,000 km a year for a diesel to make sense.

Where do you live? :t-cheers:

Istanbul (Not Constantinople ) :eusa_pray

I would want to choose C 320 CDI like your E 320 :usa7uh:

here seems C 220 CDI comes over C 200 K

Thank you All :t-cheers:

Cool, thanks. :usa7uh:

The C320 CDI is nice, but the C220 CDI is a more realistic choice. It's equally quick and agile and get's good fuel economy. The driving fun is there. I've driven the W203 C220 CDI and C320 CDI. Yes, the C320 CDI is a monster, but for everyday driving needs and wants, the C220 CDI doesn't dissapoint at all. :t-cheers:

Cool, thanks. :usa7uh:

I've driven the W203 C220 CDI .....

yep ! if you drive W204 C220 CDI, I think you like much- more Power and Agility :usa7uh:

There is more C 200 K on the road here and owner of C220 CDI will be OK :t-cheers:

i did about 300kms in the 2 days..

it really is a lovely car and the power is excellent for such a small engine..

its got so much torque

i drive on a mountain road and really its a pleasure driving up the mountain..i drove it in c mode not sport and really found the acceleration..very good i doubt very much the c200k will be as easy to drive on uphills or overtaking

i would go for a c220cdi for shure
