Bugatti 16C Galibier Concept

My mistake.

Footie has stated that the Panamera shares the same platform as the A7.

May i also add that footie stated that the 3.0l V6 engine found on the Panamera has been sourced from VAG.

I got it wrong with the 3.6L unit which is a simple mistake given that the capacity and output is identical, as for the A7 I can only state what I was told about the sharing, but if I got this wrong I hold my hands up. But maybe you should quite while ahead as you have shown here no one is without the ability to make mistakes.

Lets not forget the recent issue regarding the cost structure of Audis vs BMW and MB. You got that embarassingly wrong and you even tried to foolishly defend it.

Whats worse, you don't even know the difference between the cost price and the selling price. That's another one of your embarassing mistakes.

Not to mention, you still even haven't finished the argument in the thread. Either admit that you're wrong or at least show the courtesy of providing a reasonable and logical response supported by facts. Come on. We're still waiting.

Now that i think about it, you get a LOT of things wrong. And they're all really serious errors. Whats worse is that you always claim your statement as authoritative fact even though you are gonna be shot down as blatantly incorrect. Arrogance.

I hope you consider this whenever you make a post cos you really have no credibility whatsoever in this forum.

Couple of videos have emerged and they are oh so sweet:

Still can't match the beauty of that Atlantic coupe.

I like. Reminds me Wiesmann, well that was the style of those cars.

Bugatti Galibier Gets the Axe

Remember Bugatti’s Galibier concept? Or should we say the four-door version of the Veyron? Well, the French automaker says we should forget about it because it’s not going to happen.

According to Motor Trend, quoting company CEO Wolfgang Schreiber, Bugatti doesn’t have “enough bandwidth to support both a super sports car and a super sedan”. simply put, the world has no use for a sedan larger and more luxurious than the Rolls-Royce phantom.

Revealed in September 12, 2009 during an invitation-only show at the company’s headquarters in Molsheim, the Bugatti Galibier 16C is powered by an 8.0-liter twin-supercharged W16 engine that delivers in excess of 800 HP.

Initially, the Bugatti Galibier was scheduled to enter production in late 2012, but it was eventually delayed for 2015. The automaker was planning to around 1,500 examples with prices set at more €1 million ($1.3 million) each.

God I wish Bugatti will make the Galibier so I won't have to see this crying face ever again. Seriously though, I never expect Bugatti to put it into production, not for that price and sales projection.

Sad news? I couldn't give a rat's rectum. I've always hated the Galibier: its look and what it stood for... the Veyron concept is where it's at for Bugatti.

A new Veyron would be nice, but there is something about a 16 cyl sedan.....I'm sure it would have been a glorious masterpiece. So disappointed...:sour:

Who cares? It's not like I was gonna buy, or even afford one for that insane price. Lol.

Just kidding, it sure is a sad news. I'd love to see the Bugatti brand grow now, beyond Veyron.

Bugatti officially rules out Super Veyron and Galibier

Veyron hybrid is a "maybe"
Bugatti chief Wolfgang Schreiber told TopGear magazine the company isn’t planning a Super Veyron or a production version of the 16 C Galibier concept.
There won't be a Super Veyron because Schreiber believes "1200 PS is enough for the chapter of Veyron and its derivatives" while the Galibier would "dilute the Bugatti philosophy." He confirmed development of a Veyron replacement has begun and the car's main objective is to "redefine the benchmarks" which the current Veyron still holds.
When asked if whether the next Veyron will resort to hybrid technology, Schreiber responded with an inconclusive "maybe". He did say we can "forget about McLaren, Porsche and Ferrari" because "all the next Veyron has to worry about is... the current one."
At the beginning of December we found out Bugatti sold 400 units of the Veyron and it seems in the meantime an additional seven units were sold as Schreiber says only 43 cars are available at this moment, with all of them being roadsters. Production of the current Veyron will end in 2015 when Bugatti will "close this chapter and open another one."

Well, we'll just see about that. Now that it looks likely Aston will make their new Lagonda Taraf available in other markets .......I predict we'll see this Bugatti project revived.

VAG have got a bit of a habit of this on-again/off-again indecisiveness - we've seen it with the proposed Bentley Azur successor and the Lamborghini Estoque.

Came across a few images of the Galibier concept the other day.... Leaving it's brash image aside, part of me really wanted Bugatti to build this car....The pinnacle of luxury, packed with 1001 bhp....:( In another life, perhaps

Meh, i am happy they didn't build it. It's a very weak design proposition.

Holy thread retrieval Batman! I forgot about this car. There is definitely room on the market for a Phantom/Mulsanne priced driver's car.
