A4/S4/RS4 Breaking News: Audi kills the RS4

PS regarding the RS5 if its dsg only then again AUDI shoots itself in the foot.

I agree, the RS4 was nigh on the perfect Audi. Audi better put a proper gearbox in the RS5, I do not think the RS4 would have been such a hit, had it been automatic.

Maybe this is the first step from Audi in remove the A4 from the map.
But the move seems logical for me, .... Still... Sad..
but what will happen to the radical RS desing for the new models / S-line
will they be offering a RS-line as styling pack?

RS styling is of course the sexiest dress IMO.
Well well.. this is the future!

Doesn't make sense to me. Price is what killed the sales here in the U.S. not some environmental bullshyte.

You simply can't price an Audi above a BMW or Mercedes and expect it to match them or even get close to them in sales. In the U.S. that is.

What a hot car the RS4 was, and now destined to become something of a cult-classic. I'll have the cabrio please.

WHAT THE FCUK.

Power, Performance, safety and practicality?

What more could a footballer or anyone with a bit of cash want for his family and himself ?:t-banghea

I cant believe Audi would be so stupid?

If this is true, I may loose faith in Audi..

Oh no! Why would they do such a thing? I would have rather seen BMW cancel the M3 then Audi to cancel the RS4. I need to take off a few days of work after hearing this. This is just horrible news!

Wow, in those few words you manage to completely diminish the RS4 and at the same time give the M3 its obligatory share :D

Whoa there people - let's not get too carried away here. I would take this 'report' with a very large pinch of salt. Anyone who reports the demise of the A4 and S4 Cabriolets as 'breaking news' months after the replacement A5 and S5 versions were launched totally lacks credibility in my view. Can you really trust someone who writes things such as "Unfortunately there were true" and "So, of you want a sports sedan"?

Fourtitude's source has already confirmed that a B8 RS4 Avant is in development.

This is not even a news... Audi is drowning in lineup confusion...
A4 and A5 are stepping upon each other in every possible ways.
Q5 that is A4 based, the A5 sportback that is 5 doors like a fracking A4 avant but with a slightly different roofline. A4 convertible which was 2 doors... But now it the job of the A5... so kill the A4 conv... but sell an A5 conv... lineup wyse it's just a rebadging anyway... 2 doors, no roof, size of an A4, call it whatever you want it's still the same thing. They should focus on making their car a little more user/cargo friendly instead... Because RS4 or RS4 avant... there might be backseat... but we have yet to find a human who can use them...

Audi

Audi AG is a German automotive manufacturer of luxury vehicles headquartered in Ingolstadt, Bavaria, Germany. A subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, the company’s origins date back to the early 20th century and the initial enterprises (Horch and the Audiwerke) founded by engineer August Horch (1868–1951). Two other manufacturers (DKW and Wanderer) also contributed to the foundation of Auto Union in 1932. The modern Audi era began in the 1960s, when Volkswagen acquired Auto Union from Daimler-Benz, and merged it with NSU Motorenwerke in 1969.
